That looks like an old washer hookup. The 20 amp outlet, hot and cold and the trap for the rubber hose I didn't see a 30 Amp dryer plug, but maybe it was gas. The black small pipe behind the stack looks like gas.

It seems like a lot of work instead of using a sawzall or a cut off wheel

Looks like I have a gerber faucet set up in my late 50's house. It says Gerber on the old chrome handle caps anyway. Hot water (and possibly cold) is leaking. I was considering getting a kit and doing the fix myself and replacing the seat etc. because I thought it was fairly straightforward. I suspect that mine is a similar situation to this one that you just did. Now I'm nervous about attempting it. Am I better off just getting a plumber in to tackle it? Any idea what I'd be looking at for cost on this type of repair?

Is there a filter inside Utica boilers?

How long will that last, my ceiling just caved and have a pin hole leak in a galvanized pipe? I'm thinking thats the easiest way to go if it will last a while.

Your pressure tank was/is up side down, did you know that, but i think the water wasn't completely drain when you opened the gage .

about As Good As It Gets...!! Now, on to replacing my dripping Gerber washers and seats. I did replace the three stems 10+/- years ago, but did not check or replace the seats. Need to find a rather inexpensive seat remover tool. Hopefully this goes smoothly...

A lot of scale in my estimation. Even at 40 feet on that first line. I would be recommending a cleaning, descaling, and a corrosion resistance rated resin coating as the standard option. Need to check the sags because those sections will need to be dug and replaced.

I buy a house soon. Thankfully all the plumbing from top to under the crawl are replaced.....except...that....one galvanized one that sticks out the ground and runs what looks like out the foundation. I think it goes to the sink. I got it quoted at 800-1200 and it is first on my list. How concerned should I be about the rest of the non visible run from outside, underground to city connection?

What happens if I have two white wires and a red ? Before getting the new thermostat I was able to run the heat by touching all three wires together and using a cap nut at the end , now I have a Honeywell round thermostat and just want to install it correctly 😊
