Bear 650 is beautiful, saw it in eicma , prefer it to the BSA

If you actually want to scramble get a fantic caballero rally.

Both the RE and the BSA look OK but if i was to get the BSA I'd wait 12 months to buy it when, like the GoldStar, they will reduce it by 2 grand.

Why not the 400x …amazing price and love the bike and for off road much lighter than the bear and can actually go off road and about same HP
@ogasi17988 күн бұрын
the only triumph to consider is the 1200, the others are fake as fuc7 - out of bear and bsa - tough one due to the bear being so well built but the bsa looks so much better off the blocks - it's a single too so it's more fun 🙂, i am in the same boat as you and i reckon the bsa will get my cash - as for the bsa stories, internet is too powerful for -ve news, fuc7 2nd hand market as if you buy to ride then the market will sort itself in good time and you will ride a nice bike for years in the mean time

Hi Joe, I've just traded my street triple for a 2024 new RE Bullet 350 and love it! Such great build quality, simple enough for me to do my own maintenance, gears smooth, quality switch gear, suspension good, excellent parts availability, 3 years warranty & breakdown assist, such great value, I'd go with a Bear 650 hands down, why wait for BSA when their retainable px value is poor, good luck with your choice! 👍😎👊

Joe! Respect!! Well done for diving in at the deep end and sticking with it. What an experience. You only live once. Carpe diem.

Hi Joe. Having the same dilemma myself! As an ‘oldie’, I went to see the RE Classic 650 but found myself thinking seriously about the BSA Goldstar. In the flesh it looks a beautiful bike. Like some of your other commentators have said, you need to test ride both bikes and hopefully the decision will then become clear. Maybe I’ll just stick with my Classic 350 😉. Both bikes though looked so well engineered. I wait in anticipation to see what you choose.

I like the look of The BSA B65 Scrambler and am awaiting the release in the spring, it should be finding a place in my garage. There is no need to worry the BSA powertrain is a lusty unit and performs well.
@freedom-machines9 күн бұрын
I don't think you would be disappointed
@spangoz10009 күн бұрын
What your all missing, there is little to no dealerships for the likes of CV moto, BSA Royal Enfield. Secondly massive price cuts to these bikes mean dealers will not even take them in part exchange.
@freedom-machines9 күн бұрын
Yep! Seems that way
@spangoz10009 күн бұрын
@freedom-machines The Triumph 400X scrambler is bigger to sit on than the 900 and looks really well built £5700 or £60 month on PCP .
@TheBluebiker10 күн бұрын
The BSA Walks it . Should have looked at The Triumph 400x too I did not like the Bear myself liked the Classic better . I know we are all different. Need to test ride them all next year preferable on the same day then We know
@freedom-machines9 күн бұрын
Definitely need to test ride them 👍🏻 yeah I sat on the 400x it was actually the best riding position of any triumph I sat on but lacks that X factor for me.
@michaelmcdaid583810 күн бұрын
The Bear is a great looking bike but the BSA from what I could see looked just as good. Yeah Triumph should be concerned.
@freedom-machines9 күн бұрын
Agreed 👍🏻
@ianhalliwell86048 күн бұрын
When Triumph launched their 400s they introduced them at a very competitive price and put them up after they established them. BSA did the exact opposite, overpricing them and then massively cutting the price to unload stock.

Because Benelli is owned by a Chinese company, they can knock them out at a low price. It surprises me that Triumphs are not cheaper to, because they are made in Thailand and then simply assembled in Britain, why aren't they cheap?

Good bike but too modern looking for me! Yeah it’s either Thailand or India

If could justify spending the coin on a new Triumph, I think I'd have a Bear and a Classic. I've spent the last decade on singles, so sorry BSA you're just not in the frame I need a twin for a bit.
@freedom-machines9 күн бұрын
Totally agree 👍🏻 bear was great but didn’t rate the 650 classic to old school even for me
@shremich45839 күн бұрын
for me it’s the opposite, I had twins since the 80s, Kawa Z750 Twin and now T120. as second/third bike I would prefer at least 500 ccm single like the old SR500 or 650 ccm. the Triumph 400 Scrambler isn’t enough.

Street scrambler; has to be a big single! that BSA is very pretty in the yellow. Shades of Big John Banks in the sixties owning the scrambles scene on his B44 and B50's. The enfields are nice if you really want a twin on a scrambler(??) The UK dealer market was a bit fragile for BSA launching 1 bike model to dovetail into post covid and brexit, and was overpriced initially. But worldwide BSA are on the upwards, hopefully you brits can mature your BSA dealer network so the spring brings good news. USA dealer networks have been announced and BSA are now in India too. Hopefully BSA firm up their plans which were for Japan and Australia going into the next few months. But do some research on the best big single scramblers ever and the letters BSA will be front and foremost.

The trade value with bsa forget it , its across the board all bikes have dropped in trade in value , bsa just seem to be targeted

That bsa scrambler looks very nice. What weight tho? The resale values of their road based 650 is shocking so hopefully this will do better
@mattwilliams975810 күн бұрын
The 650 Bear. Buying the bike is only 1/2 the story of living with the bike… Royal Enfield have the network, and the Bear is a development of a proven platform.

I'm going there next week , i cannot wait, You have been lucky with 5 months waiting... when i had the "incident" my bike took over 7 months to be fixed 🤣and that was just minor cosmetics ... Between the 2 ill choose Royal Enfield all day, much more classier looking and i bet reliability is great. Hope you make the right decision for yourself and waiting for your trip videos again 🤗

@freedom-machines10 күн бұрын
Absolutely
@spangoz10009 күн бұрын
Ask dealers what they think of BSA , once purchased essentially worthless. Due to over capacity and price discounting .
@shremich45839 күн бұрын
the BSA dealer network is the problem and the RE Bear 650 looks a bit unready. I would prefer a 650 ccm single Scrambler from Triumph because the next Triumph/Kawa/BMW dealer is 20 km away. RE dealer ~70 km and BSA i don’t know.
@shubhromu10 күн бұрын

Hi Joe, Great vid, thank you. Vids 1 and 2 N.Wales is my stomping ground. On your way to Anglesey you went down the A55, horror show for a biker. You can get there only loosing 40 mins on some amazing roads. You said it’s great to set off without fixed plans which can be a blast, I agree, but on the flip side a few “best roads” vids are invaluable and stop you missing out. I’m no massive touring expert but I’ve done a bit and for a bike,Google maps is not good. Well worth £70 buying one of the motorcycle apps, best bike purchase I’ve made. It sounds expensive but compared to a dedicated GPS it’s cheap and will give you lifetime membership. Updates tonnes of useful features ect. Really don’t mean to be patronising, just friendly advice. Think you’re doing brilliant making the vids for us. I’d happily meet up in N.Wales in the spring, show you some great roads. No problem. Cheers T

It does suck when this sort of stuff happens but always go fully comp. That being said, if you want a classic motorbike that you can ride around town and tour on, I would probably go try out triumph speedmaster. Maybe royal Enfield meteor 650. A little bit more modern. A rebel 1100. Most people I see riding around London on a classic bike, normally ride a t120 or a bobber. Depends if you want an all-round bike or you just want to Saturday and Sunday bike. Good luck to you buddy
