Enjoying the videos so far fella. In regards to the tech pack, I personally think it’s a winner but only if your are actually going to go off road, not just fire roads. Ordered a 901 expedition and if the tech pack didn’t come as standard I would pay the extra. Also if Chris birch and Adam Riemann say a quick shifter helps off roading and is worthwhile, who am I to argue. Adam’s got a great vid about ergo’s which may help with the shoulder pain.

1st Video. I‘d buy the whole tech pack. Gonna get the 2024 890 adv in a few month and fell in love with it first ride. I want to get into off road trails and like the idea of fitting the electronics to my skill levels. Have a great time 🫶🏼

If I had the money I would of got the 23 from just looks alone but I couldn’t justify the extra £2/3k I was then in GS and Pan America money

I love my qs and cc! I got the 23 model. The motorcycle was second hand and already got the teck pack. But i can't live without the cc and qs. The rally is really interesting mtc is great the electra realy works on the terrain:)

I don't personally know anyone who has NOT bought the Tech Pack. Save the money if you don't want it, buy it if you want more bike. Like the difference in car options, it costs money for more options.

I wouldn't hesitate paying £250 for cruise control as I use it all the time. It's such a stress free way of sticking to 20/30 limits

I have a 790 adventure which I bought 2nd hand, luckily the previous owner had gone all out on it. It has cruise control which is a must have, cannot go back now. Quickshifter is great. Has heated grips/ powerparts heated front and pillion seat which is also excellent. Has the rally mode, while the rally mode is great the aggressiveness of the throttle response will put a smile on your face I definitely wouldn't buy it unless you're seriously gonna do some offroad riding. I use street mode 95% off the time. And good luck with the channel really enjoyed your wales trip videos.

I would also recommend buying a cheap amazon screen extender if you're suffering from the same screen buffeting that I was initially. Although if you're 6ft3 I guess that's a not issue for you.

Also keep an eye on the ABS cable that runs along the swing arm. It has a tendency to slacken itself enough to run into the rear tyre while riding. Samething happened on my friends 790 duke enough to start chucking up electrical faults on the TFT

Thanks Henry, some really good advice here. Your 790 seems like a great find, knowing the additional cost I would looked for slightly different specs. I still might explore a windscreen extension if it helps on the motorways etc. Thanks for the positive feedback, I’m still a bit rusty with presenting and general camera works but it’s a start. 🙌

750 doesn't seem unreasonable in the context that a KTM dealer is quoting me 850 for the Tech Pack for a new SMT

I got my quote from an independent dealer, it’s always best to shop around I guess. I’m leaning towards just the cruise control at this stage.

$800 euro is ridiculous! I paid $600 US for the tech pack on my 890 R in the US. That said. Just get it. Or just get the quick shifter and the Cruise. The cruise control is just a must have.

My Tiger9 RP has cruise & quick shifter both are great options. TBH the shifter is great for off-road so quick to drop a cog if you suddenly realise you're bogging down.

I'd recommend the lads at Triumph Adventure Centre their courses are really good and it's how I ended up with a Tiger. Double Take mirrors work well maybe not the most stylish. @@freedom-machines

I ran a set of Anakee wilds on an 890 adv for 3000 miles. I thought they were great until I tried Dunlop Trailmax Raids on a 2500 mile trip across the Pyrenees and back. Dunlops as good as the Michelins off road but soooo much better on road.

Omg trust me , for 28 years I’ve been cold in autumn/ winter . Two years ago I brought my jacket ,one omg why didn’t I do this years ago , but make sure you buy the jacket one size below you , a tight fit . Wow , they even do gloves , trousers, and boot under sole and heated socks . Please take my word for it Carl . Nottingham

Cruise control, you never knew you wanted it until you have it. Quick shifter, can take or leave, it’s not the best on the 890, not terrible. Rally mode pointless in Manchester and most of England, will never need or use it, a must have riding in the Aussie bush/outback…or Morocco. Video brought back memories, I used to work in Salford Quays / live in Manchester, now in Sydney with a 890.

Go for the full tech pack shop around you'll get at least 10% off, there are at least 5 dealers around accrington Wigan Stoke Chester and Colwyn Bay

Your channel shows real promise. Good content sharing your biking history, whys and plans for the future. A+++. Already sub'd. Your choice of just activating the cruise control is a good one as I have it on a couple of my bikes and like my car take it for granted now. Riding a bike or driving a car with out it is a bit of a PITA tbh. £360 to activate the QS is a rip off. I think the 890 Adv has a slipper clutch anyway making changes nice and light. If I were buying a new KTM, the dealer would have to throw the rally pack in for free which my local KTM is often advertising but KTM themselves tried to stop this by activating it only for the first year then you have to pay for it to continue which I think is bad on their part. Are you getting a bike shop to put new tyres on your bike or are you changing them yourself? I just bought an Olmax tyre changer. It literally takes less than 1 minute to put a tyre on or take a tyre off a rim. No more struggling and no more paying rip off bike shop prices to get tyres changed.

Thanks Alex, I absolutely would of but I didn’t buy from a dealer. It was handy to find out yesterday they are tubeless tyres which I didn’t know. Yeah I can’t justify the £360 at this stage not with the cost of everything else needed but CC absolutely it’s a game changer. The chap only charged me £50 yesterday so I can’t complain.
