Yes, Begonias have some of the most beautiful foliage Patrick😌🤲💞I love your collection🥰I have one Begonia that has a tripple petal flower. It's hardy to excess water, so that's good. It's got Beautiful foliage too💖

Great video! I hope I’ll be able to watch more of them from prison…how many years do you think I’ll get for propagating a tradescantia Nanook? It gets worse…I’ve done it twice. And I gave one to my neighbor! I could probably get a life sentence for that, huh? I do learn so much from your wonderful videos-thank you, Patrick!!!

Sorry about your grandpa. My grandmother was also an avid gardener and I make sure to pay homage to her every year with one or two of the standards she always had in her garden. Hollyhocks are always on the list, and then I look for things like foxglove and calendula and many more that make me think of her fondly.

Some amazing plants!! I love that you are into brachychiton rupestris- a beautiful tree that I see commonly here given that I live in Queensland! They really are such a cool tree to see dotting a landscape or planted in people’s yards or parks and are a fabulous tree to hug! 😂

I have two Australian bottle necks one I've had for than ten years , it's about six feet tall and is deciduous. When the leaves grow back their in the shape of a ⭐ star. The other one is younger and I intend on training it in a bonsai style called literati, in a round shallow bonsai pot.
@Patadendron3 күн бұрын
That’s so cool! They are perfect for literati bonsai! I love brachychiton rupestris so much for their versatility in achieving some really interesting results aesthetically!

That’s funny with the 'Nanouk' patent, but I understand it. It’s just ironic to copyright certain cultivars or even genera, such as that one. Really, the only way to keep any _Tradescantia_ or _Callisia_ (i.e., 'Wandering Jew' or 'inch plant') looking good long-term is to deadhead, prune, & propagate. 🤣 I had to clean up the dead blooms on my Nanouk and those stem pieces are still viable cuttings. I wouldn’t throw it away. Either stick them in water or directly into semi-hydro setups to root them. Maybe six months ago, I laid these Nanouk trimmings on top of the soil with a potted fiddle leaf fig, which faces SW so I was worried it’s too hot in the afternoon… it has some protection, but now those are some of my strongest & most vivid Nanouks. Never expected them to flourish like that. Better than the original from the store. And they don’t look like sh*t! ok now I jinxed myself by saying it… 👍🏽

Hahaha **knocks on wood Yeah I totally agree with everything you said about the Nanouk! So funny 😆

Hi Patrick, for the dracaenas, I have a huge one inside the house and all of a sudden got attacked by mealy bugs! They get deep inside the crevices of the leaves! ARGH!!! I sprayed with neem oil every other day. What else can I do!!??
@Patadendron6 күн бұрын
You can also use a rubbing alcohol soaked Q-tip to individually remove each mealy bug. I’ve had that happen to some of my dracaenas and that’s how I got rid of them. If it’s a lot you can rinse the leaves with alcohol just being careful it doesn’t get to the roots
@cucar83633 күн бұрын
@@Patadendron OK thanks! it is 10 feet tall dracaena. I will need a stepper or something to get to the top. Yes, I heard 70% alcohol works wonders. This will be my next step. Thanks so much. Keep those videos coming, I really enjoy them.

You know what’s interesting about those curly jades? I read that they’re actually a like monstrose form of _Crassula arborescens_ (silver dollar jade) and not actually _Crassula ovata_ var. _undulata_ which is what I thought. Unless that’s a "synonym", lol. I just thought that was cool, then it made sense cause curly and silver dollar jade both have a thin red stripe on their leaf edges.
