Wow, I’m only a middle school girl who has never made a cake before. I have made many things like cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and brownies but never a cake, only my mom has done it and I’m making a caramel cake for her birthday. Idk if I can pull this off.

@@TheCookingFoodie went wonderful. Splash of milk was necessary. Used smoked ham too. Marvelous contrasting.

Maybe the food coloring is water based and it made the chocolate dry

*Delicious recipe! Just made these, but I shaped them into a brick instead since I don't have a cookie cutter. After taking them out of the fridge, I sliced them into rectangles and used a fork to add tiny holes so they look like the perfect shortbread cookie! Thank you for sharing!* ♥ Jenny

Hmmm. I've tried making these with this recipe. First time, I accidentally used too much tapioca and it was fine. Second time, the dough feels a little too runny...hopefully they still turn out alright. :/

@quampureКүн бұрын
Gel color made your white chocolate seize. For coloring chocolate, you should always use oil-based coloring. Gel colors are water-based, Chocolate seizes when it comes into contact with even a small amount of liquid or moisture during the melting process. This is because the water causes the sugar in the chocolate to dissolve and then form a syrup, which binds the cocoa particles together, creating a grainy, thick, and clumpy texture 🤓😉

But it would’ve seized in the beginning when he mixed in the food coloring. It looks fine and smooth when he drizzled it into the molds, not seized.
