Hey Ognjen, I’ve been watching your fights for some time now and I know you’re a good friend of Juan at Combat360. It’s been nice to see you do those seminars down there on the island I’ve always missed them unfortunately . It’s also been nice to see your fights and take bits and pieces from your game as I really like your style. I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you will take on next!

Onjen, SIR, I know what its like to step away from fighting and in my case both coaching and fighting for over 20 years. You WILL feel empty for awhile but Find the new mission. Your greatest gift would be to pass on all your knowledge and grow the most beautiful fight sport on Planet Earth......I appreciate you and your fights and your pursuit of the dream. I used to be close friends with John Wayne Parr. Dont fight beyond your limits. Im glad that he has found a new path and is passing all his knowledge. Accepting our times in life is hard but although its scary, NOTHING CAN TAKE AWAY THE LIFE AND EXPERIENCE YOU HAD. The best is yet to be. I knew it when I was in my corner thinking about the TV show I was missing!

This is one of my favourite punches. Easiest way I’ve found to do this, is the explode into a 1-2 combination, the blitz usually causes opponent to shell, and from there you can do a liver shot. Going straight from the jab is possible when boxing an opposite stance fighter. People usually respond to jabs with jabs. Prob with a jab, anticipate the return and slip whilst landing the liver shot. Also can be done skipping a right hand, you just need to be prepared to roll for an oncoming left hook. Finally, on occasion where the left hook is coming, or if you have fast enough feet, a check hook is a good way to pivot around your enemies guard once you secured the liver shot. It brings you out of trouble - and is at least 1 point scored and out, best case scenario two points up and out of danger.

I relate to this heavily... I've spent the past 9 years of my life committed to MMA and sacrificed a lot to do so, including my well-being and happiness. It took a lot from me to rip myself away from what was my whole life, but I found so much joy in other things that I always said I "didn't have time for". I still have a love for training, right now just Muay Thai, and I still compete for fun, but not having it be my everything is so liberating. Thanks for being an inspiration to a lot of us and also for being so open about what is going on. You have impacted a lot of people's lives for the better through your journey and I look forward to your next chapter. I hope to still be able to train with you one day if you're ever back in the US!

You’ve been an inspiration for me since I started training in my early college days. You are and always will be a champion. You’ve accumulated a wealth of amazing life experiences that cannot be replicated so easily in a world where now society loves to thrive off of easy and quick pleasures. 🫡 Hope you enjoy the time to live life on your terms and I’m certain we’ll see you in competition, but with your heart and mind in unison.

You will understand after a year or two - that pizza doesn't taste as well as a well placed knee. Staying out late does not feel as good as a competed training session. But it takes time to understand. Everyone has to reach that conclusion alone
