You had a great career and are considered one of the best American Muay Thai fighters that fought and trained in Thailand! Your name came up on a list of fighters that was talked about on a fighting podcast the other day as one of the best American Muay Thai fighters! Nothing but respect and no shame for stepping down to pursue something else. There's definitely more to life than martial arts. But you earned your respect in the fight game for sure 💯

Hey Ognjen, I’ve been watching your fights for some time now and I know you’re a good friend of Juan at Combat360. It’s been nice to see you do those seminars down there on the island I’ve always missed them unfortunately . It’s also been nice to see your fights and take bits and pieces from your game as I really like your style. I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you will take on next!

I relate to this heavily... I've spent the past 9 years of my life committed to MMA and sacrificed a lot to do so, including my well-being and happiness. It took a lot from me to rip myself away from what was my whole life, but I found so much joy in other things that I always said I "didn't have time for". I still have a love for training, right now just Muay Thai, and I still compete for fun, but not having it be my everything is so liberating. Thanks for being an inspiration to a lot of us and also for being so open about what is going on. You have impacted a lot of people's lives for the better through your journey and I look forward to your next chapter. I hope to still be able to train with you one day if you're ever back in the US!

thanks man, i feel exactly like that-liberated. Ill be back to USA as soon as it gets warmer on the east coast.

Onjen, SIR, I know what its like to step away from fighting and in my case both coaching and fighting for over 20 years. You WILL feel empty for awhile but Find the new mission. Your greatest gift would be to pass on all your knowledge and grow the most beautiful fight sport on Planet Earth......I appreciate you and your fights and your pursuit of the dream. I used to be close friends with John Wayne Parr. Dont fight beyond your limits. Im glad that he has found a new path and is passing all his knowledge. Accepting our times in life is hard but although its scary, NOTHING CAN TAKE AWAY THE LIFE AND EXPERIENCE YOU HAD. The best is yet to be. I knew it when I was in my corner thinking about the TV show I was missing!

Wyn and I were discussing you and your art last night. We both saw a difference in you. This isn't a shock to those who pay attention to your art. You're always going to be my favorite...even more than Tawanchai. 😂 I'm looking forward to seeing what life has in store for you. You've inspired me so much over the years and even my daughter admires your work ethic and how you treat your family. You've been a role model for us. 🙏🏾🥊

In your career (while you were competing in Bangkok), did you take any breaks/vacations? Not including recovery time after fights.

None, maybe that was part of it as well but for me it was always time. time is the enemy, so i kept pushing myself to stay in the gym because i needed to continue training and improving

You will understand after a year or two - that pizza doesn't taste as well as a well placed knee. Staying out late does not feel as good as a competed training session. But it takes time to understand. Everyone has to reach that conclusion alone
