Unusual sets, and beautiful costumes. I especially liked the Lilac Fairy. The putting the palace to sleep sequence was very beautiful. The Royal Ballet does this so well.

This is the good America that is shown. I think more of it has to keep showing. There is so much wrong with the world but why dwell on it all the time.

Glad I found this most of the documentaries about the island aren't too great.. and are made by KZbinrs... It's good to find a documentary with people that were actually there! Growing up in the Bay area this is always a huge fascination about the escape ☕🚬🤘

What a special documentary. I grew up in the 90s with older parents and a father who had a penchant for traditions of yesteryear. We’d drive 10+ hours from our non rural city to western PA every summer. My father loved wooden roller coasters, antique pottery and the warm, friendly dispositions of the people in that area. The happy memories I have riding the jack rabbit w dad are top tier and made of pure gold. My father passed away several years ago and I haven’t been to Kennywood since I was a child. This documentary is really sweet and an incredible trip down memory lane for me. I hope that wholesome American traditions like kennywood endure for at least another hundred years.

Ah yes, the appraisal of an artist based on the number of wrong notes they play! LOL!

@@JackGibbonsHQ you also, cheater, you edited artificially your Alkan Comme le Vent to sound that fast and you didnt made a quarter note silence in Rythme Molossique, shame on you, and please slow down you Rapsody in Blue bro why so fast why such a hurry why so rushed, shame on you
@JackGibbonsHQ3 күн бұрын
@@Sujkhgfrwqqnvf What a lovely surprise to read your comment - I am honoured to be denigrated alongside Sviatoslav Richter! Though there is video of my 1995 Alkan recording sessions that refutes the implication of your remark about Comme le Vent (recorded in a church in England with no heating during a freezing cold January, the temperature was so low you can actually see my breath as I play Comme le vent!) but why focus on speed, the least interesting thing about that piece? Speaking of speed, I'm afraid I won't be taking your advice about slowing down Rhapsody in Blue but good to see you feel so passionately about it. Above all I MUST congratulate you on spotting the missing beat error in my 1995 studio recording of En rythme molossique: I was sure the error was obvious at the time of release (1995) yet in all the years that recording has existed you are the first person to comment on it. Well done! Sadly, I fear our budding relationship might not have much future as we clearly have so little in common musically but thanks for your reply!
@Sujkhgfrwqqnvf3 күн бұрын
@@JackGibbonsHQ Well, I am very happy that now everyone can read that since 1995 it has been clear that you do not know how to count even a quarter note rest. And you don't know how to play arpeggios either, why the hell do you start arpeggios on the pulse? It sounds horrible, and your Rhapsody in Blue is Schizophrenia in Blue

This is great, I was 13 in 64' and got home as fast as I could to watch Shindig. Came on at 4pm. The Kingsmen playing "Louie Louie," was a cool anthem through college and into the 70s. I knew Jeff Beck was with the Yardbirds, but I did not realize he was the one playing that haunting Telecaster sound on Heart of Soul. This is memory lane for sure.

A significant part of these shows are the dancers. For shows like this, tv variety shows, and specials they provided extra entertainment.
