Well done. I watched another video that took the whole machine from the front which was far more screws and parts to get access. From the back is easier if you find all of the screws before you go crazy trying to loosen the back like I did. I just greased the bearing and am hoping for the best but if the squeak returns I’ll order the part.

It's a mix of brilliant and bad, that's just where Billy is at since Machina imo. I think the main problems is inspiration, while Billy is very busy I think he lacks real inspiration and i think he has some mental block that's stopping him writing authentic lyrics for example. Another factor is he needs a producer, a good solid producer not Rubin or Baker.

Refreshing to hear someone actually give the project a fair shot! Would love to hear your thoughts now after some weeks... And how do you feel about the 10 singles on the 7-inch vinyl (collectively known as Zodeon At Crystal Hall: Shiny & Oh So Bright Vol. 3)? i love soundtracks, so the orchestral versions on the audiobook were right up my alley. i need to give the Crystal Hall 10-song series another listen. my initial reaction was not as enthusiastic as i was expecting, but that means nothing. how many songs/bands through the years do we recoil at initially, only to end up absolutely loving it/them years later? i am going to pop Atum on Spotify while i work today to listen in a different context and see how it grabs me. thank you for taking the time to leave a thought provoking comment.

@@wlayneh yeah, the reviews I read about Zodeon got me hyped but the actual music reminds me of the American Gothic/Teargarden eras and it's okay, certainly a vibe, very much appreciated in the context of the Shiny trilogy, but songs like Space Age, Embracer, Harmageddon, Night Moves, Canary Trainer, Pacer and even Springtimes like you mentioned are all much more memorable to me. @@thenewholistic yeah, with his comments on this next album via the podcast, i am anxiously awaiting what comes next! i am currently 5 songs into Act 2 while i toil away at work, and outside of the context of the story, just having it on as background music, i am really enjoying it. and finding myself grooving to it. the only song so far that kinda just gets on my nerves is "Where Rain Must Fall", and that is mostly just a thing that Billy does with his voice on parts of it - "on a starway to the stars". the word "to" specifically when he is singing almost acapella. i keep thinking, why did he make that sound? meh. i can look past it. :D

This was my brief comment about ATUM on their channel: Okay, since this is the full release of the album, I'll list the songs I enjoyed. Overall, I'd rate the album 7 out of 10. There's just too much filler crap. If they reduced the songs down to one album with no more than 12 songs it would have gotten an 8.5 out of 10. And the reason I didn't rate it higher is because a lot of songs were ruined by boring intros and Billy's obnoxious voice. Anyway, here's the list of songs I enjoyed in the order they appeared on the album: 1. ATUM 2. Hooligan 3. Steps in time 4. Beyond the vale 5. Avalanche: (skip the intro and start the song around 1:25) 6. Empires 7. Neophyte: (sounds like a Weeknd song if you are into that) 8. Moss: (Led Zep Immigrant ripoff, but it's still solid) 9. The Culling: (skip the intro ruined by Billy's singing and start at 1:30). 10. Intergalactic: (It's honestly a good song if you skip the intro and start at 3:12) 11. Spellbinding

@@wlayneh Billy needs a producer who he respects enough to take advice. He's needed an editor since before Zwan. He consistently chooses the wrong songs for records and post Oceania seems to just stick everything in. He also needs someone with the kahones to say 'that riff/song is average.' He's consistently said that one of the main drivers for his art is to be relevant. Personally I think that is his undoing. It means the work is not coming from a natural place. What's let Cyr and Atum down are the arrangements and most importantly the synth sounds. He just doesn't have that in his talent box. I'd love for him to collaborate with someone like Fourtet, Clark or Ben Bohmer - someone who is amazing at sound design. I think his personal experiences with musical relationships alway turning sour (mostly because of Billy's controlling nature) has meant he's just gone full solo on everything. On the guitar front, the riffs on Empires and Beguiled wouldn't even have made a b-side of an original run. They're embarrassing. I'm glad that Atum is going down well with some people but I can't take anyone who says it's better than a 3/5 seriously.

What an awesome present! Presentation/box set of a great "product" I too, began to hear all the (in my experience at least -post Teargarden) smashing pumpkins releases under a new light . Perhaps (and again, this is only how I personally choose to view the fandom waxing+ waning), I was mourning what I had falsely believed to be the death of what was once my favorite band- my all-time favorite ROCK band, and when JEFF became the longest mainstay member, and with another JC departure too THE ONLY Member other than Billy- and with not an inkling of a reunion, nary a James in sight.... I mean, am I really to be blamed for this? These are reasonable thoughts. Thanks to the band for making wonderful work well into their 30th year as a band, and I encourage all to give it a chance with open ears and open hearts and open minds, but because of the tumult and demise of consistency, I feel like I'm not sure we can actually blame anyone for prematurely writing them (the IP of 'Smashing Pumpkins' itself) off. That being said while it does look wonderful I don't know if it's worth however much money in your wife paid and I was too a fan of the podcast and checked out the zuzu's website that had this for sale... Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it in the 500 dollar price range? Ok, like, you can get your own vinyl pressing MADE for that kinda scratch Yeowch! Still, thanks for showing this. Maybe it would be worth it if we're any good. Beguiled is the only track I have heard that I like so far. I will be listening to more soon so maybe I speak to hastily. As long as you love the album that's all that matters. Loved Siamese Dream and the follow up some of the songs but after the first 3 albums I lost interest. I was 23 in 93 and right out of college so likely why the absolute love of the album and it was killer. Absolutely the 2nd hand market is out of control and makes the hobby of collecting vinyl no longer as fun.

@@wlayneh It's definitely a nice collector´s item, as for the music, I playlisted about 15 tracks from this, which is a good percentage.

@mydogmax1969 There are plenty of good tracks on that album. Only problem is many of them are ruined by terrible intros and Billy's voice being emphasized at odd moments. If they cut the album down to 11 or 12 tracks and removed some of those awful intros, it would be a great album. As it stands right now, I'd only give it a 7 out of 10 at most.

Good video! Thank you. I was able to replace the idler from the front bottom panel of my Maytag5000. Saved me about 100 screws from having to do from back. Wasn’t too tedious but the screw was opposite than righty tighty.. runs like a champ now! Thanks again
