Im not sure the Australian cockatoos like the same foods as the Indonesian cockatoos . Sulphur crested vs aumbrella . The sulphurs definitely don't want sweet foods , so they'll eat apples but not pears cos pears are too sweet . They'll eat raw potatoes even slightly green potatoes but it ain't their favourite. They'll eat sunflower seeds all day long but it ain't good for them cos of the oil content. Grey sunflower seeds have less oil content . Sure they'll eat the seed blends made for parrots. If i give them bread , i prefer it be multigrain bread. I'm talking about the wild cockatoos that visit my place .

Please comment on giving antifungal meds to a parrot. My grey parrot was given it by avian vet and at first he got some chest feathers back but he did die about 3 years later at age 19 and I wonder if it's because the med harmed his liver. I have read it's toxic to livers of greys and some other parrots. She also gave me a small bottle of red palm oil while waiting for the prescription to come and he perked right up. My instinct was to just not give him the antifungal so I asked her if that was okay since he seemed great, and she said to go ahead and give it. He was so healthy before that antifungal other than that little period of what seemed like a yeast infection. He flew everywhere, the vet said he was very strong and he just seemed like he would outlive me.😅

One more tip, if there's a lot of friction in the syringe and its getting harder to push the plunger, put a little bit of olive or coconut oil on it, it will slide smoothly.
