Idina Menzel was 32 when she first played Elphaba, and Kristen was 35 playing Galinda, so not quite sure why everyone keeps saying they won't look like college students. They aren't playing themselves. Now Chrysalis could have captured the changlings and gotten the unicorns, Cozy Glow gotten the pegasi, Tyrek taken earth ponies between them. Three types of ponies for three villains. They could have caused extreme prejudice making the other races to retreat to their own lands. Since then they could have died leaving the present conditions. About no magic a similar situation caused the rulers to store their magic into Twilight Sparkle and the objects that could do this existed in G4. My opinions are similar to others and I make no claim that this is what happened.

Idea: What if after Flutrershy got old and died, Discord slipped back into his old ways? Friendship was the one thing keeping him from chaos, and with no more Fluttershy, giving in to his nature and causing chaos was the best he could do to ease his grief and dissatisfaction? What if he then turned the creatures against each other? What if he released Chrysalis, CG, and Tirek for the fun of watching them and the creatures contend with each other? What if wars broke out and some species were driven to extinction? The alicorn princesses did the best they could to fight him, but Flurry Heart herself was still young and inexperienced compared to the ancient being, and was easy for Discord to defeat. Eventually, Celestia, Luna, and Twilight managed to defeat him, but the damage to Equestria was done. Cadence had already died of a broken heart soon after Shining Armor inevitably grew old and died, and Twilight herself didn’t want to spend eternity without her friends. It became clear that simultaneously making ponies the matrons of relationships (friendship and romantic love, respectively), and also making them outlive their loved ones was a cruel idea that should never have been done or repeated in the future. Twilight relinquished her alicorn magic to the land to help undo the damage caused by Discord, and then spent the remainder of her mortality trying to help the sisters restore order and peace to some extent. After that, Celestia felt everything that had happened was her fault and that she was an unfit leader. She stepped down from her role as a princess and has since lived in Equestria in various disguises of earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasus, never revealing her true alicorm form to anypony, or getting involved in politics. Luna stays by her side in her own disguises. I’ve only seen the 5th gen movie, no episodes after, so I apologize if anything contradicts anything.

I do agree the producers did him wrong here. It was their movie and they should have given him a chance. He was part of the team to help get this movie green lit only to then be sidelined. However i dont think he should be bitter about it cause this is what the show business is like in hollywood. Alot of heartbreaks and disappointments. Infact hes more talented to become his on showman. He can do it.
