Nice to see a cameo from your better half; she is so much more of a prettier sight than you are at dawn. 🤷‍ Another video without those green framed spectacles, I'm beginning to think you've lost them. Very dangerous going for strolls of an evening with a pub on the route. Waking up to a costa coffee and a bacon and cheese croissant, what's not to like.

Very Steve Walsh like this 'traffic island'' camp. There are two things I used to do when going some place I shouldn't depending on what I was trying to achieve. First, was to carry a clipboard as everything thinks you're on official business and leave you alone and secondly, carry a bog roll in full view so folk obviously work that one out and also leave you alone. However, once in situ, folk won't see you as they're not expecting anyone to be there plus they get a second's view should they be looking as they drive by. Yes, if the traffic tails back then, you need to stay perfectly still and remove that Elton John glasses. LOL. You're becoming a bit of a gadget boy and before too many years, you'll need a bigger house to keep it all in.

I've resisted TEMU and almost weaned myself off ALIEXPRESS, but can't resist a dip into Amazon now and again. I like that little mess kit with the flat kettle. No green framed glasses this video so whatever can I write about ! I think the idea behind 'just get out' there is valid advice insofar as, no point spending big $$$ bucks to find out you hate it. Most wild campers aren't usually too far from their vehicles and can always bail out if the going gets tough, but it would be rather silly to go up into the hills/mountains without experience and/or proper kit. My idea is that you need to start with a shelter that is going to keep you dry first of all. You can get away with a cheap sleeping bag IF you make up the difference with good thermal underwear, woollen sweaters etc. You can buy a set of aluminium pots quite cheap and you could start out with a homemade cat stove and some fuel etc. I'm from an age, when tents were canvas, there were no sewn in ground sheets and certainly no inflatable air mattresses - we just got SOFT is all. 😉🤭🤷‍👍 Ps. like the black beard, like the hairstyle lots, but not so keen on the rainbow colours - no offence intended with these last comments, just my opinion and I KNOW you don't care what folk think. Enjoy.
@roncamping
@roncamping Ай бұрын
@@RobertsBulgaria I forgot to bring my glasses so just had to hope everything was in focus as it was all blurred for me! And yes I don't care what anyone thinks but keep the comments coming I do love people's opinion what ever they are. Thanks so much for your support
@RobertsBulgaria
@RobertsBulgaria Ай бұрын
@@roncamping Don't forget to factor in that there are both 'hot and cold' sleepers, the latter will need a higher thermal rating. From experience, I can say that a thin lightweight bag can have its thermal rating increased with the use of such things as a 'silk liner' and/or a wool blanket. Most campers carry a quilted down jacket that squashes down really small in a pack, I just happen to have the same thing in a quilted onesie and matching booties as I detest cold feet. 95% of my kit is military surplus and not all of it is cheap and it is usually heavy too. I do possess an Army Arctic sleeping 'system' (I don't like that term), but I guess it is a system as it's made of 3 bags, but it would fill a large rucksack on its own so only really practicable for car camping type trips during winter. I like your channel because it is HONEST and I can see that you like your little comforts when out and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all, but at the other end of the scale, there are those who like to give the impression that they're suffering, just wait until winter time when the Bushcraft/Survival genre will be full of thumbnails such as 'Solo Overnighter in my Y-Fronts, Minus 65 C.) I exaggerate for humour, but not by much. ps, tie a knot in your hanky, forgot your glasses, forgot your snacks, left the chair behind, didn't take the table..... Have a great Sunday. 😉👍

Love the hair Ron - Totally agree about gear and if it's possible to do it on the cheap I have a fairly extensive winter setup ( as this is when I started gathering my gear) and it cost roughly £200. I don't have multi season gear so I have to put up with using heavy cheap winter gear in the summer. My problem is I struggle to get out of the front door >.< . Would pitching your tent with the blade facing the field made it more stealthy? I realise this would not let you see what's going on in the field.

Ron, did you not try pairing your GoPro with your smartphone as then you can fully control the GoPro and see what the GoPro is seeing on your mobile screen. Your batteries are going to run down quickly as you're filming in 4K. Your channel, your choice, but your files must be huge. Give it a try in 1440p which is far more quality than required for your kind of footage, but that is purely my opinion. I liked the platting of the blue tails, who does that for you? Still not into the Dame Edna green frames though. You'll have to put a shemagh over your head and the back end of that light intensifier night camera to remain somewhat stealthy - worth a try. I had a house in Burnham on Sea many moons ago, but never really got chance to live in, but like most counties, it has a lot of things going for it.

Personally, having 2,700 subscribers myself and yet not having uploaded anything for 7 months, I am of the opinion that people subscribe for the content, but more so, the personality of the vlogger him/herself. You have an interesting way of telling your story with more than a hint of eccentricity, but it all adds up to the entertainment. Just keep doing what you enjoy doing and folk will subscribe or, they won't. Real bummer about the van roof, but hopefully you can find an off duty panel beater to do a foreigner for you for cash when you've scraped some dosh together. Concerning the lack of windows, it is more important for me personally to see the sky and is why I might consider putting a sun roof in there at some stage. I haven't been back to the UK for 10+ years now and I never knew that ASDA had 24-hour opening. One could be camping and stuffing their faces all night long until the money runs out or your belly bursts.
