You Gave each individual card a number of cards they can hold, but if you had every single card of the same suit you wouldn’t have enough cards to max out each card if you wanted that to happen so I know it doesn’t apply here in solo but in vs it couldn’t happen. So is that some kind of flaw in the game

I created a low budget rpg. It's called cards and cobolds. It's a game where you play as yourself, and the dungeon master is the narrator for the story. You can play cards to perform actions while the dm makes out the outcomes for those actions. The rules are written on the dm screen. The setup is very easy. All you have is a bunch of decks of cards, and a game master screen.

I changed the "guess a number" rule to: A1, J2, Q3 and K4 on a D6 roll. Statistically it's the same as your 11/12 rule as it's still a 1 in 6 chance as 11/12 = 2 in 12 (which is the same as 1 in 6)

Have you thought about, instead. The cards attached to the party act as equipment and add damage. And using the two dice as damage dice instead. So if you have a king and it has a 6 and a 2 attached. And you roll a 7, you add the 6 and 2. Doing 15 damage. And your opponent has to deal greater damage by beating a 15. With the die roll and their numbers attached?

I made an RPG with 1 deck of cards that I play when I'm bored at work Step 1. Separate all 4 card pairs Step 2. Take all face cards and ace and put then together Step 3. Mix Spades and Clover numbers together with all face and ace cards including heart and diamonds Step 4. Take 1 of the 2 jokers and shuffle it into the big deck/deck with face cards Step 5. Shuffle Heart number deck and draw 1 card...that card number is your health number...you put it next to the 2nd joker/who is your character Step 6. Shuffle the Diamond card deck full of just numbers...this is the damage deck Clarification. You should have 1 health number next to a joker infront of you...then a big deck full of all Spade and Clover numbers and every ace and face card...then a damage deck...and deck full of health points Begin. [Step A]. Flip top Big deck card over. [Step B]. If a number repeat [Step A]. [Step C]. If a face card put a random health point next to it like your joker card. [Step D]. Draw the top card of the damage deck and whoevers health point number gets drawn first dies. [Step E]. If you die game over [Step F]. If you win take face card as Trophie put damage cards and health cards back into there own decks...give yourself a new health number and then Repeat [Step A] Bonus. When and ace is drawn that means you are friends with whatever face card of the same suit...Example if you draw a Ace of Clubs all Club face cards won't be at war with you and you automatically win Goal. Your a joker and your goal is to be friends with each and every Kingdom in the land...When you find the second joker it becomes a companion and gives you double life meaning it gets its own health point. Can you unite all the kindomes and be the best joker in the land? Or will you fail like so many others before you

i like the spell idea. i don't really like the spells. Diamonds seem broken and the black magic spells seems like they help your opponent more then hurt. If I have like 1 card under my ace and you attack me and I round down and I had like a 2 underneath then I get no cards under which means I get to pick a random number. Well, I would rather have a 6,7, or 8 as my number rather than the 2 because they have a higher probability of being rolled so I just helped that guy out. Maybe it is just the way we play. I try to end the game as fast as possible so, I don't spend a lot of time leveling up. I put high prio numbers under my dude and swing at my opponent to end the game. it'll be even easier being able to cast guard and then attacking right after. Same thing with poison. Like say I have a jack and i put my 6 or 6 under But I have to put a 2 under because I'm about that action, I want to swing at you as fast as possible. If you cast poison on the jack I get to replace it with better cards after 2 turn of drawing. Idk like I said I like the option. I just see everything other than guard being situational. thanks for the update I will be playing a bunch. Appreciate your time of making these videos.

The solution to this - which I'm surprised he didn't include - is to use a 10 sided die rather than two normal dice as it eliminates the advantage of likely landing on or around seven. We also made it so that if you don't have a card attached to a champion, then you have to get a "critical roll" aka 10

Hey! I just came across your game, and it was super inspiring! In fact, I came up with a new theme and a few new rules that I think could get this game published commercially! Of course, this would be a big project, and while I do want to get into game making myself, I technically have never done anything of the sort. I'll be bringing this up to a few of my friends and see if they'd be willing to help with card design etc. I... have no way of knowing if this comment will reach you, but if it does, would you mind if I took your idea and ran with it?
@TravanePhoenix4 жыл бұрын
Hello Jonathan, thanks for the kind words. I’m always glad to hear from another aspiring game maker. While I personally request that you don’t use the Hezzop rules verbatim for your project, since both my friend Zach and I put a lot of work into its development, I still encourage you and your friends to brainstorm an original game of your own design. When I first came up with the concept for Hezzop it was a rainy day and I had nothing better to do, so I plopped a deck of cards in front of Zach, and said, “Today we’re making a card game!” I told him that I always wanted to make a game which emulated the 4v4 turn-based battles found in JRPGs using face cards as the characters. After that we spent the next 6 hours experimenting with rules until the experience felt fun and had a nice flow to it. My advice is don’t straight-up copy-and-paste Hezzop, but use it as a starting point for something entirely new, like we used JRPGs for inspiration. That’s what Tony Ngo did when he came up with his original title, Ascension, which is an intriguing and intricate game I recommend checking out. It takes the general idea of Hezzop, that is an RPG with regular playing cards, but took it in a different and unique direction. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKivnIJ4h8tkn68

@@TravanePhoenix Aw heck. But I get ya. I'll just have to make sure my original idea is even better...! I... technically made a game of my own design way back in school, but it was an unbalanced mess that only I was willing to play :/. Maybe I should sit down with it and give it the 6 hour weathering treatment. Haha, but in all seriousness, good stuff. I actually found your game thru ascension, but yours was just that more appealing because of its simplicity. Keep up the good work!
@TravanePhoenix4 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanlennon-kelly8642 Balancing is the tough part for sure. When we first started workshopping Hezzop, we’d play through a round until we ran into a fatal flaw, then either removed or altered a rule. This was especially challenging when we were creating “Hezzop Pro” which dealt with status ailments, resistances and leveling. Personally, although that version of the game was more well-rounded, I’m inclined to agree with you on the appeal of simplicity. Unless you have 2 plus hours to devote to a card game, the easier the learning curve the better the experience will be. You just need to find those base 3 elements which make the game fun. For Hezzop it was stockpiling number cards, acquiring a new character through a random battle, and challenging. Think of 3 things that are simple and fun to do over and over, and you’ll have a great game.

For those who don't know and haven't checked the rest of OP's channel: Earlier this year, he changed the rule about champions fighting without number cards attached (5:32). You can no longer guess any number you want, you must choose 11 or 12.

A champion card without any number cards attached should have to roll a 12 to win, not whatever number they pick. If they can choose then they'll just say seven every time because it's the most commonly rolled number. But a 12 is not a card value. An 11 should have some kind of bonus too.
@jd8924 жыл бұрын
I would make a modification since guessing a number makes ZERO sense. All cards have 7 by default since it is the most common number rolled on dice. If you add a #7 to one of your cards that card is now immune to any 7 rolled. This is definitely a must. Also making the Aces BOTH an 11 and 12 makes alot more sense then using as a face card. You could use one joker each as a face with 5 possible add ons.
