With each player having its own deck, I could imagine a 6 players game where you choose your opponent or spell target! Alliances could be formed on the spot or 3v3 matches. Starts to look like a Munchkin/Magic game!

I'm glad you added the second deck. I was doing that when i would play this game with my friend before I knew about this video.

Very nice to see an update to the rules. Glad I kept subscribed. If you ever play with some friends would be great to see a vid of these mechanics in action.

Have you thought about, instead. The cards attached to the party act as equipment and add damage. And using the two dice as damage dice instead. So if you have a king and it has a 6 and a 2 attached. And you roll a 7, you add the 6 and 2. Doing 15 damage. And your opponent has to deal greater damage by beating a 15. With the die roll and their numbers attached?

If you and your opponent miss, then you both get to roll again or the battle stands undecided?

During a leveling battle with less than 2 cards, is there any reason NOT to let your opponent roll first? And... How did that queen at the start already have a card when it hasn't been in any leveling battle yet? Also, please clarify: When do you discard cards from poison? At the start, or end of your turn? Here's a couple of my house rules: A) If you have to discard more cards than you have attached, you lose the card and must replace it with another face card from the deck. This card must be either of the same rank, or lower. Reshuffle the face card pile afterwards. B) You can bypass a resistance if you roll a pair, which is possible on, 4, 6, 8 and 10. (not counting 2 and 12) C) HP system from the earlier Hezzop which I posted 2 years ago (with a twist). Instead of instantly losing after a failed challenge, you may choose to discard one of your attached cards and roll again - but if you win, you'll be blinded.

The benefit of having less than 2 cards attached to a character is that you really aren't risking anything by letting your opponent roll first. I thought I made note of that briefly in the video, but perhaps a rushed past it. You will discard a number card at the end of your turns when you're poisoned. As for the queen, I had a card already attached so I could demonstrate the consequence of losing a number card after a leveling battle loss just as a visual aid. Thank you for including your house rules. I like to have new ideas available in the comments section in case other players want to shake things up.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! And the poison clarification. So, in a leveling battle at the start (when none of the face cards have any other cards attached), you should maybe always choose to let your opponent roll first, just so you can get some cards attached? By the way, how do you handle ties? In a challenge I think it was the challenging player (for being brave) that wins ties, but what about a leveling battle?
@TravanePhoenix6 жыл бұрын
I'm unclear on what you mean by ties. Since players take turns rolling the dice there shouldn't be any ties. The winner would be whoever had a successful roll during their turn. Are you encountering ties because you and your opponent roll simultaneously when you play?

If I have a 7, and my opponent also has a 7, and I roll first... I will win even though it's also his number? That's what I mean.
@TravanePhoenix6 жыл бұрын
The win goes to whomever rolls a number attached to their face card first, so if you rolled a number you both happened to have during your turn, then yes.

i like the spell idea. i don't really like the spells. Diamonds seem broken and the black magic spells seems like they help your opponent more then hurt. If I have like 1 card under my ace and you attack me and I round down and I had like a 2 underneath then I get no cards under which means I get to pick a random number. Well, I would rather have a 6,7, or 8 as my number rather than the 2 because they have a higher probability of being rolled so I just helped that guy out. Maybe it is just the way we play. I try to end the game as fast as possible so, I don't spend a lot of time leveling up. I put high prio numbers under my dude and swing at my opponent to end the game. it'll be even easier being able to cast guard and then attacking right after. Same thing with poison. Like say I have a jack and i put my 6 or 6 under But I have to put a 2 under because I'm about that action, I want to swing at you as fast as possible. If you cast poison on the jack I get to replace it with better cards after 2 turn of drawing. Idk like I said I like the option. I just see everything other than guard being situational. thanks for the update I will be playing a bunch. Appreciate your time of making these videos.

The solution to this - which I'm surprised he didn't include - is to use a 10 sided die rather than two normal dice as it eliminates the advantage of likely landing on or around seven. We also made it so that if you don't have a card attached to a champion, then you have to get a "critical roll" aka 10

My favourite new rule is the resistance, it's really concise.I think I would allow a character to get a new resistance that replaces the previous one, so still only one per character, but it can change. I like the idea of spells, mostly for being able to get rid of useless suit cards from your hand, but I do think it adds potential for effects to be forgotten with lack of counters and such. I've been thinking that for the black magic spells, could you perhaps make the numbers attached to characters "set" in the order they're added? So for example: Queen > 7 > 4 > 8, if they're blinded they lose the use of the cards farthest from the character (8 then 4) and poisoned they lose the cards closest / "oldest" on the character (7 then 4 then 8). Finally, I think it could be a nice idea to have a lower hand size, say 5, but you discard down to 5 at the end of your turn, and draw UP to 5 at the start of your turn. This means you can't bomb out your hand with spells / upgrades, then deal with a turn of drawing 1, then two actions to draw another 2. You could also additionally discard more cards at the end, say you have 6 but you get rid of 1 (by rule) and another 2 you don't want, so your next turn you'd draw 2, after which you can still use actions to draw above 5 so long as you end up with 5 or less before finishing. Anyway, really cool idea and I'll be taking this one to the pub next time I'm out!
