hi everyone are they compatible with short or long pull flat bar levers?
@errolbarnes972910 ай бұрын
You do know that cable actuated brakes do work much much better with compressionless housing, and a 180 to 200 mm rotors... especially up front, duff the floating brake disc and go with a 180 one piece stamped set, while i can fully under that an E-Bike is far more faster and floating disc will cool faster than a stamped set of rotors, i still think you should try the above mentioned ideas and perform that test again...

What’s your thoughts on the BOA system in this helmet? Is it uncomfortable, or is it confining or too tight and restraining to the head causing any potential headaches? PLMK ASAP. Thanks for the video.
@BoogieNN2 жыл бұрын
On a scale of 1 to 10 I give this helmet a 8. The BOA system is durable as well as comfortable. The issue that I have with this particular helmet only pertains to the knob that you use to tighten it. It is on the small side and can be a little difficult to navigate when wearing gloves. I have not experienced any overtightening that may lead to headaches. I purchased this DRT5 in a large and it fits a little tighter then other brands with the same label.

Boogie & all, I now have the Kinekt XR (model?, from memory). I LOVE it for soaking up bumps and shocks before they hit an aging spine that’s had a surgery and many pain shots. Love the Kinekt !!! It cost a lot, but works. I don’t hear any squeaks yet despite 248/6’3”. I’d definitely purchase again. Been able to do a lot more OFF the smooth asphalt trails at state park. I go slow and roll on through new territory, see many deer, large water birds, lakes, ponds. Also loving the foldable Aventon Sinch e-bike !! The new gen with low step through design. Pedal assist #2 to ease it over the dirt trails. Bump up to 5 for steep hills. I SO appreciate being able yet to get out in nature almost daily on bike, bundle up, ride down to zero degrees (just no slippery days).

@fwood12313 жыл бұрын
I just got one for my Specialized Vado. I ride mainly on pavement with some gravel. Originally had a Suntour spring post suspension, which I thought was pretty good compared to straight seat post. But the Kinekt is so much better. They recommended to add 20 pounds for ebike application. I weigh about 180 and came with the 180 spring installed. I experienced a bit of “bobbing “ effect and bottomed occasionally. Changed to the heavier spring included and it’s very smooth and comfortable. It’s a Cadillac ride now for sure. I’d highly recommend. On road or off road.

@Boogie-NN I summarize e-Bikes using this abbreviation: FFL (Faster, Farther, Longer). All e-Bikes do is “augment” what you’re doing on the bike now. I’m not Lance Armstrong nor Greg LeMond! I’m an obese guy who wanted to get from point A to point B as well as lose weight. And guess what? I’m doing that with my converted two-wheel recumbent bike! The fat guy or gal that has a mountain exBike? He’s going to lose weight provided he’s using the bike. Why? Because that bike is too damn fun to ride. The fat guy or gal that has that city bike who has to transverse through large hills in the city? He’s going to lose weight too. Why? Because the bike is too damn fun to ride! And those hills? Phuck those hills, man!!!😅😂🤣

Good tip about the barrel end on the brake cables! Because its buried in the lever housing and not readily visible until the cable is removed, you might not be aware if the cable is damaged or frayed. Its one of the inspections that should be performed any time the brakes are adjusted, cables lubed or the pads are being replaced. Aside from cables damaged from being pinched, kinked or bent in too tight an arc, those cable ends are where they fail. FYI, get a good cable luber! Amazon: Motion Pro 08-0182 Cable Luber . It's a bit messy, need to hold a rag around the device when spraying the lube into the cable. Also put a rag/paper towel at the bottom to catch drips and keep the lube off the brake pads and brake rotors.

Thanks for the little shout-out man. I managed to finally get the bike out in the snow - it had a lot more grip than I was expecting (right up until the point when it didn't 😂). Almost dropped the bike on ice a couple of times but I managed to keep it the right way up. It was really enjoyable though, it felt like I had more grip on the snow than I usually do on mud. Every time I have managed to drop it so far (in all weather conditions), has been because I grabbed the wrong brake lever - Rad delivers the bike with an American setup with the front brake on the left brake lever, but in the UK we normally have the front brake on the right-hand side - so I've got 35+ years of muscle memory telling me to pull the wrong lever and I just never get around to swapping the cables over... One day! Lol On a different topic; I keep meaning to ask you - what's the music that you use for your channel? Is it your own creation?

Hey Boogie, sorry I missed the live show, got caught up with a project. Great advice about emergency prepping, really good idea to have basic supplies, skills and information. Just the basics for most folks: #1-drinking water, fire starter, first aid kit, flashlight, some snacks. Also people should know the basic info about their furnace and water shut off valves. Beyond their house or apartment, they should know where an emergency shelter is located. I also got a bit freaked out with all the weird stuff over the past year and got a portable power supply to keep my refrigerator and basic electronic going if necessary. Those people caught off guard in Texas and Oklahoma would be smart to follow your advice. Let's hope things start to settle down a bit, kind of crazy living in crisis mode all the time!

Hey just a thought Boogie - you don't need to use a new controller to speed the bike up, you could use it to assign even lower amounts of power to the different PAS levels, e.g. if you don't ever get out of PAS level 2, (let's say that's 115W of power for the sake of the conversation, I can't remember what it really is) then you could make PAS 5 top out at 115W, and have PAS 4 set at 90W, etc etc. That setup could give you *more* range per battery not less. You could still leave the throttle set up with the full 750W of power and have the best of both worlds on the hills. I mean, it's more money again, but the option is there lol! All the best mate
