Ride with courtesy, respect everyone and every vehicle sharing the road. I'm not getting any hate in my limited riding time an e-bike. One old guy on a beater jokingly told me "Isn't that cheating?" but that was the only comment so far. When passing a pedal bike on a trail or on the street, I slow down and politely say "passing on the left". I try not to intimidate anyone, bikers or pedestrians by blowing by them. I don't intentionally show off, just pass and carry on at whatever pace I would normally ride. In general anything new is going to have some pushback. Remember snow boarders? Some ski areas didn't allow them on their slopes, maybe they still are limited, I don't follow that issue closely but look what happened, it became a huge success in the winter Olympics. My guess is that within 5 years or so, someone mega-pedal bike superstar man or woman will endorse e-bikes, or maybe some sports celebrity and they'll gain widespread acceptance. In the meantime, ride safely and respectfully, and continue to do your part to promote e-bikes.

Woo! You're registered on Brave! Hahaha, welcome to the future man, I'll send you a tip just for finally getting round to that lol. On e-bike acceptance; I haven't had any negative comments off people yet, at least not to my face, just compliments so far. Where I live I'm kind of known for doing my own thing though, so maybe people just think it's a 'typical Andrew thing to do', lol. I try to live my life by the words of Marcus Aurelius - "Let them scream what they want" and take no notice. To me the electric bike is pretty much the pinnacle of human transport, coupled with the train.

First off Thank You!! It’s not so much from the average person it’s more of the diehard dedicated cyclist. When I read different forums a lot of them look at Electric bike riders as cheaters.

Great video! Very informative. Didn't realize there's a issue about e bikes, sure seems stupid. I'm about to get my rad because the hip doesn't like me riding further than 2 miles. Boy I sure miss riding. July delivery I hear. Thanks for being RAD... from Chicagoland!

Things are changing. More people appear more curious of e-bikes. At least when I'm riding. There is even a new sport, e-MTB racing, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKOroWSCmqySldk One thing needed is an association to represent the interests of electric assist vehicles. Analog biking has a lot of clubs, groups, and special interest groups. These can lobby and hopefully influence bicycle enthusiast's interest for bike trails, safety concerns, etc.

@Boogie-NN I summarize e-Bikes using this abbreviation: FFL (Faster, Farther, Longer). All e-Bikes do is “augment” what you’re doing on the bike now. I’m not Lance Armstrong nor Greg LeMond! I’m an obese guy who wanted to get from point A to point B as well as lose weight. And guess what? I’m doing that with my converted two-wheel recumbent bike! The fat guy or gal that has a mountain exBike? He’s going to lose weight provided he’s using the bike. Why? Because that bike is too damn fun to ride. The fat guy or gal that has that city bike who has to transverse through large hills in the city? He’s going to lose weight too. Why? Because the bike is too damn fun to ride! And those hills? Phuck those hills, man!!!😅😂🤣
