I'm sorry to say this : I don't like her communication skills because she didn’t answer the question ( What is Risk Assessment ) . Instead of going into deep details with big terminalogies she would have explained it in a simple what it is first . Then from there she could continue elaborating how its conducted step by step. Anyways ....

Same I am trying to get into IAM and I just finished my google cert and got accepted into Okta learning. Grant so plan to get Okta certified professional cert in January

@itslight8294 Nice! I know Sailpoint is another tool used in IAM with many others. I'm currently looking into learning Azure AD and possibly starting a project around that. Goodluck with your studies!

It's not impossible, but you may want to consider attacking a practical certification to get hands-on experience you can use in an interview.

I’m doing the IT Fundamentals on coursera but you can practice labs on “LetsDefend” that are cybersecurity related. Certs, Labs & Networking (with people) are what’s going to get us in the door for the IT Field 🙏🏾

I've been laid off twice in my IT career and both times it sucked but I learned valuable lessons each time. Each time I was able to bounce back with a better position. This was about 8 years ago. I'm not sure what the bounce back would look like in these current times especially with me being close to 50.

You get a good sallary there is no doubt, but that you will life like a higher class citizen is the question it can be possible but that's more if you have a lot of expericence or have a higher position, or certain companies. Only then there is a more realistic chanse to be actually rich with Cybersecurity. But in the first 5 years the chanses are way smaller most of the time. But there is a very good reason why the pay is high it isn't just watching to a monitoring waiting until there is something wrong. You have to make big projects and meetings with different peoples and companies with their intrests etc...

I graduate with my cybersecurity associates degree in May and haven't been able to land nothing in tech I'm still in the field I'm trying to pivot from, finance😢 ugh. I noted "introductory level" under all my tech skills on my resume because I don't want to lie and make a fool of myself in the event that I get an interview I hope that's not the reason I'm not landing amything

Got laid off myself end of last year. And then Uhh I broke my wrist outside of work. It's been a real struggle to get back in. Still working on that, and upskilling in data. But maan, I feel this, I feel this raw dialogue so badly.

@@TechTualChatter So I'm an Australian for reference. And we get a lot of floods here in recent years. One last year almost inundated my car. I wanted to build a heatmap to kind of show the changes in dam levels and be able to kind of get a heads up when this might affect roads and stuff like that. First part is almost done, second part is still a brainstorming process. Before that I had worked in tech support and in audits.

Was in education for 4 years, did a boot camp ( Careerist), bunch of liars mainly on their policy of refunding you if you don't get a job. Long story short still not in tech. Journey has been very rough, but being a black man in America I don't know how to quit.
