Good question, maybe and maybe no. It does have a very low seat height but extended pedals sitting out front. I have heard from a sub who owns one that is 6' 1 and it works for him, but also heard from people who are 6' + who say it would be to low and short for them. So I don't know. Have you seen the video review just out from Kyle who owns Area 13 Electric Bikes in Grass Valley, Calif. He is very tall and it fits him well. Check out his channel Area 13 for that video revies it might help you see it better.

Being an older video, does the OP or anyone else know if this conversion has gotten any easier? FYI, the Switz Cruiser now has the back coaster brake fabricated at about a 15 degree angle. It still attches to the traditional spot, but it's made like this 'today' for chain CLEARANCE. Also, it now has the bolt-on setup for a disc caliper bult into the left rear side. It also has 2 cable guides built into the left swing arm. Only problem is, I can't find anyone anywhere who's made a video on the procedure >>>>> and where to get the correct parts to do it. My hub already has a 3 bolt sproket adapter on it, so the fit >>>>> I sure wish I could get info on the parts to do this.
@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles
@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles 25 күн бұрын
I did this conversion specific to the 2019 Phatmoto Rover as it came with a V - brake set up on the rear. It already had the 6 bolt hub which they utilized for the drive sprocket. I simply used some aluminum spacers along with longer bolts to attach the 220 mm disc brake rotor. I then used a simple disc brake caliper mount and attached it to the frame in the appropriate spot to have a rear disc brake. The actual combo sprocket/disc brake is an inferior design because there is no way to keep chain lube off the rotor, which then contaminates the pads rendering them sub standard for braking. The newer Phatmoto's 2020 through 2024 use a 255 mm rotor but they also put the caliper mount in an inferior position on the chain stay which causes pad contact issues when doing chain adjustments. Overall, with quality brake shoes the V - brake was superior in braking than the disc, but it tends to wear out the rim fast, especially the cheap Chinese metal rim. If you have a 6 bolt hub, it is very easy to adapt exactly what I did for a rear disc brake set up.

@whatsyurprob158 24 күн бұрын
@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles I have the 3 bolt sprocket adaptor from Bike Berry. It uses the black allen flat top bolts. A thin spacer along with the disc >>> might just work! I don't want to eliminate the coaster brake if I don't have to.

Excellent video my man! Bravo 👏! This looks like a great set up and better built than the stock jackshaft from phatmoto company itself. I'm going to do this set up on my phatmoto as well. I have seen your part list. Now my questions are when you install the bearings on the 5/8 shaft and put them in the jackshaft holder of the bike. How did you get the bearings inside on the shaft? Did you use a press tool? Once the bearings are inside of the shaft holder will the bearings stay in place or should I put a lock collar on the inside of the bearings to hold them in place? Or will they be okay as is and won't shift around on the inside of the shaft holder? Also, do you think it would be okay if I use a 12 tooth 41 chain sprocket instead of a 12 tooth 415 chain sprocket? I don't want a chain upgrade damaging my bike or any other parts like the chain tensioners for example? What do you think? Once again thank you for taking your time making this video and sharing this hardcore jackshaft with us all! ;)
@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles
@beaubrummelmotorizedbicycles 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. If the shaft and the bearings are to tight or to lose, use cold and heat to help. Putting the bearings in the freezer will shrink them down as will the shaft become smaller. I don't recommend heating the bearings but a heat gun helps. The rubber seals should be removed before any heat is used. I would use the collars as a safety option especially on a keyed shaft, ( the bolt on shaft is not the best way of keeping it in, to easy to ruin the bearing).Yes, its okay to use a 41 sprocket. I don't understand how can a chain upgrade damage anything? Anyway with a quality pre stretched race chain the chain tensioner is not needed. Race chain is what you should run, stay away from the Chinese made 415, or 41 chain, it is inferior and will only cause premature wear on sprockets and let you down.
