Thank you for noting the obvious difference between INTJs and Elon Musk regarding the outward self promotion, which is so antithetical to how we operate generally

This is imo an excellent handling of this much-discussed topic. 🙏 You’ve probably already read this, but just in case, Dario Nardi co-authored an interesting paper on cognitive functions and executive functioning, which is right in line with your assessment. I wish I could link it, but unfortunately I no longer can access research papers that are paywalled :(

Yes, this video is excellent Erik, but you are an ISFP - ISFP’s are cool Erik I wish you would consider it. Describing yourself as an INFJ doesn’t fit you at all.

Very true Eric, these are our issues. These reasons are also the reasons why ENTP and INFJ don't mesh. We like doing us and you guys like doing you. Therefore because of these reasons I never got super close to INFJ. Now when I meet an INFJ I keep the conversation light. It's best that ENTPs and INFJs keep each other at arms length

To be fair ESTJ and ENFP do value the same 4 functions. And have a lot in common. In a one hour video, it is not outrageous to make that mistake.

Jung as he gets older under massive changes he also experienced dark nights of the soul, and almost fall into psychosis himself due to confronting his inner child! By active imagination. It leads him to write the Red book! So there’s a story about his chilhood that many people dont know about. His father is one top leader of Mason in Switzerland. His Aunt and mother is involved. He was sacrificed himself when he is a child in ritualistic manner by this Mason like Sa….tanic worship! His red books is full if symbols of what his childhood looks like and confronting it leads him to confront the dev…..il himself. Usually this children or children now adults sacrificed in those kind of rituals have a very distinct drawings and paintings of symbols as a way of remembering what happened to them. No wonder he changes his views at the end

Mbti is a pseudoscience akin to zodiac signs. The best we have in terms of assessing an individuals personality " type" is big five.
@ErikThor
@ErikThor 5 күн бұрын
The MBTI and Big Five actually show strong correlations, suggesting the MBTI isn't all that far off, just Jung trying to subjectively come up with an explanation for his observations with patients, later backed up and surpassed by the statistical and empirical model used by the Big Five. That said, the Big Five does leave a lot of holes that Jungs theory attempt to fill. The Big five makes no attempt to explain what a person is thinking or feeling on the inside, it simply focuses on objective, observable behaviour. Jung tried to understand our cognition, what is inside a person, not just how a person adapts their personality to their work or situation.

That's why we should understand the differences between content and pattern. Typology consist of formal pattern that describes how someone might react to different contents in life (subconsciously). And of course the outcome from this variable is infinite, that what makes every individual unique cause they have many different experiences. Typology it's about, for example, how a failed art student percieve the chaotic circumstances of post war Germany. He began to absorb with extraverted feelings the anxious feelings of German people and transcends it intuitively with his own biased utopian ideas based on the content of his life background and experiences. The failed Artist didn't seek materialistic and hedonism life, but how about the other types that didn't even care about the utopian ideas and instead trying to seeks as much wealth and profit as possible in such circumstances. So this is about pattern and not the content of our life.

It's not that complicated. When talking about groups, generalization is the only option. Statistics apply to groups. When dealing with individuals, it's case by case. Groups are low resolution, individuals are high resolution. When these get mixed up, you get things like racism or woke dogma. It's no surprise self-proclaimed "anti-racists" are often quite racist, but only towards an agreed upon group, like men or whites as in the last Marxist wave which is receding now. A new wave is due in 15 years, but there may be an update to the groups involved.

"You're INTP if you would choose diversity and variation OVER control" I am glad to hear that, I do see a lot of developing new sterotypes around INTPs that seem to be tainted/confused with ISTJs and maybe ISTPs a bit more where we're all just dry analysis bots who will always choose the best option, but people will say "well an ISTJ would choose the best option they're familiar with an INTP wants the best option they personally analyze" and like, sure, that's a PART of it... but it's not even CLOSE to the MAIN deal with Ti-Ne IMO. I do value personal efficiency and personal efficacy... but NEVER at the EXPENSE of 'locking down' reality. That's the opposite of my goal! I mostly want to get the more boring parts of life out of the way quickly, easily, with a very good solution so that I can go BACK to discovering, ideating, wondering, learning unhindered by the anxiety of my responsibilities and people's demands! Do you still more or less agree with this video, Erik?
