Thank you for sharing. This is reassuring for some people who have latent TB.

In the uk were told to eat as normal as soon as you can, obviously nothing too hot or spicy or over seasoned. But pizza, toast, burgers, nuggets, etc is fine. I think that helped me because by day 4 i didnt have any pain swollowing. Were told here that it reduces you chances of bleeding from 20% to 1%
@madisonbmcinnis27 күн бұрын
Oh wow! Yes, I have definitely heard that it helps some people recover by still eating normal!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I just finished my 6 months on Isoniazid and B6 for LTBI. I am 74 and I went thru all of the symptoms of the drug rather brutally. Memory loss, nausea, blurred vision, dizziness, etc. Most people don't go thru the side effects like I did. My infectious disease doctor had me go to see an ophthalmologist for my vision and a neurologist for my memory issue. After a CT scan of my brain they found a lesion on one of the lobes of my brain from a brain injury many years ago. So they thought the drug was a catalyst for all the memory issues. Anyway, I can't imagine all the people that might have LTBI and don't know it. Especially those who travel to other countries. Although I didn't know I had it the doctor said it could remain in ones system for decades and never know it. Now with all the illegal immigrants entering the country I am afraid there might be more cases of LTBI or even full blown TB. I have been off the Isoniazid for a month now and I feel normal again. But I may always show a positive result from a blood test even though I have been treated for it. However, I am not concerned since I probably have had it for many, many years and probably from my military service in Vietnam over 50+ years ago. Again, thank you for the awarness of this hidden disease.

The doctor told me my right SI joint is infected with TB and there's a bulging disc at L4/5. My blood test came back positive. He recommended another skin test involving a needle or skin tissue removal. I just turned 20, and I feel shattered and helpless. I asked him about physical therapy, but he kept denying it and didn't prescribe any antibiotics. It's been over 12 months, and the pain returns if I stop taking the inflammation medicine.

Hi, I just got told I tested positive for Latent TB only because I took a quantiferon test to get into dental hygiene school! Crazy how I wouldn’t have known if it weren’t for this test. I’ve been so scared about the whole situation but watching your video has made me feel so much better! So glad you made this to help guide us and give us an insight of what your experience was like. I plan on taking Rifampin for 4 months as well by the end of this month. I hope I don’t risk myself by waiting until the end of this month but I have a trip planned and want to be able to celebrate my birthday without the worry of feeling bad from the side effects, no alcohol, and reducing my birth control. lol I do want to ask, did you take two pills at a time in the morning with/without food or spaced them out? Also would you take probiotics every day after taking the pills?
@madisonbmcinnis10 ай бұрын
Hi! I'm glad my video helped! I honestly had a good experience with everything, so I hope you do too. Haha I totally understand and happy early birthday!! I took them separately, so one in the morning and one a few hours after dinner. I believe that I took it on an empty stomach and I didn't have any problems. I took a probiotic every day but I took it at lunch, so in between the pills. Hope this helps!
