There are some design flaws for sure, but I got mine on sale for less that $300, so I guess that's what you get. I have a broken firing pin right now, so I'm about to see if warranty will just send me the firing pin so I can change it myself & not have to send it in. Thanks for the video, gave me some confidence that I have it figured out & can handle this one on my own.

The inside of my bolt carrier has a lot of markings outside of the groove where the bolt slides back and forth. Is that normal? Like the bolt has made its own markings outside of the groove

I'm not too excited for a slightly smaller 5.7 pistol. But Palmetto did show off that MP7 looking 5.7 PDW that will supposedly take Rock magazines. That is one reason I went ahead and bought one of their pistols. If it has some parts compatibility with the rock it would be nice. Glad you got your trigger issue worked out!

Your determination to get that firearm to act right is commendable. I would have sent it back and moved on. Anyway the more folks take up the 5.7 the more ammo manufacturers will want a piece of the action and make the cost of feeding those firearms come down.

Hey I figured it out. I took about twenty thousands off the area where the trigger bar contacts the sear, so the trigger bar slips off the sear with less downward movement and the sear resets to catch the striker like it should. The first little bit I filed off fixed the 'pushing trigger to the left' failures, then I took a little more meat a couple of times until I couldn't pull up on the slide and cause the failures. The roll pins in the rear were little bit of a PITA... It works great now! Sorry to use the comments, I couldn't figure out a way to DM you. Have a good one.

I have a lot of problems with that AE ammo in guns that are 100% otherwise. I stopped buying AE stuff. I think if the disconnector was a little taller it would solve the reset problem. It's just almost resets, but doesn't. I think the velocity and mass of the disconnector in motion keeps it from happening while firing it. That doesn't make it right though. I wish they would send me some parts... Good luck with job hunting brother.
@Mrclean308
@Mrclean308 Ай бұрын
I have the same reset problem. I noticed that if you pull up on the slide it would not reset. I tried your "push the trigger to left" method and that also causes it. They didn't seem like they wanted to send me the parts to repair it, so I guess I will send it to them. I too have had to repair things from Palmetto, our experiences with them have been very similar it seems.

Any idea if the handguard can be swapped out for the shorter more "Czech military" scorpion style look?
@reformedgga1510
@reformedgga1510 2 ай бұрын
If you are using the HBI handguards, the handguard length doesn't matter because the HBI handguards all attach to a block that fastens around the barrel base. If you are talking about the factory handguards, then they are not completely interchangeable. If you want interchangeability, I would suggest you consider the HBI hanguards.

How is the recoil ? Any reliability issues ? I am thinking to get the carbine
@reformedgga1510
@reformedgga1510 5 ай бұрын
The recoil is a bit sharp due to the operating system (direct blowback in 9mm usually has comparable felt recoil to an AR in 5.56x45). The bolt is also non-telescoping, so there is a bit more muzzle-flip than in some other direct blowback 9mm guns (like the SP9A1 Stribog or the Beretta CX4 Storm). Nonetheless, I have never found any of the Scorpions to be prohibitive with regard to their recoil impulse. They are not as light or smooth as some options (like a good MP-5 clone or an MPX), but it's still just 9mm--the recoil is not ever too bad. As to reliability, Scorpions are easily some of the best PCCs on the market. That being said, they're only reliable to the extent that they are being used as intended and to the extent that they are properly assembled. As to use, they have been known to have OOB issues if they are bump-fired, especially with Winchester ammunition or any aluminium-cased ammo. I have discussed the details at length in another video, so I won't go into detail here, but the short version is to not bump-fire and stay away from certain kinds of ammo. As to being properly assembled, for whatever reason CZ has not been putting thread-locker on the main receiver screws, and the barrel comes loose when those screws come loose. My solution has simply been to apply the thread-locker myself, and doing such seems to have remedied the situation. In my experience, as long as you make sure the gun is tight, don't bump-fire, and stay away from Winchester and aluminium-cased ammo, they have exceptional reliability. It is not uncommon for them to go 2,000 rounds or more between malfunctions (with basic maintenance and cleaning being performed along the way). The Scorpions usually beat most rifle-caliber guns with regard to reliability.

Outstanding review. So, if I am not mistaken, there is no guide tube? The piston fully leaves the gas block and then reenters (with its sharp edges) upon the bolt carrier returning to bagger? If so, this is a major point of concern for reliability with hard use.

@reformedgga1510
@reformedgga1510 8 ай бұрын
I dislike the things I have mentioned in the videos: 1. The contour of the buttpad digs into me (I hate crescent-shaped buttpads). 2. The cheek riser is kinda flimsy and not adaptable enough (IMO) since it only has two positions. 3. The hinge sits too low and takes up too much space on the left side of the gun. 4. It is too light for the front end of this gun. That is, this gun is horribly front-heavy, and it would be nice to have a more substantial stock to counteract that forward weight.
