I mean, this probably Hollywood's oldest trick in the book. Just not expecting it to be used in such a fundamental way in 2020's

This video got the LIKE for the BOMB comparison. "Buildup-explosion-aftermath." Love it. I've seen Oppenheimer about 10 times now and hadn't put that together. Love it. Great work!!!

This is insane. I literally would've NEVER known this was used if I didn't randomly stumble on this clip. Incredible.

Oh man cos it's out of focus you can't notice it but when you really do look you can tell the angle is very slightly off. 😮

What's great is that the recognition serves a purpose, you specifically want to downplay the sci-fi nature with the familiar equivalent in that shot

Did they just use the same CGI program with different skins rendered.

I'm in physics and I'm glad everyone is seeing the story for the first time. It's a well known story is my world and it's an ethical case study that we all live. Almost all contemporary physics is paid for with military funding. The next Oppenheimer is somewhere in a lab today, working away

Holy wow, the differences on some are like the old school days of waiting for porn to load on a dial up, 56k. Most of it feels like you’re at the 64% mark vs the 100%. It’s that extra bit in some scenes that make it much more immersive.

A lot of urban sketchers could do this. You have to observe a space, live and communicate the space live and without architectural process, communicate that space relatively quickly. They didn't need to go to England, there are urban sketcher all over the world that could do it. Not saying it's simple, but it's not as singular an ability as this appears to show. ✌️

The trinity test shots were very underwhelming though, it was mainly a problem of scale. The archive shots were so much more impressive they could have remastered that without using CGI
