So I am the guy on this video doing the tire. I had no idea that I was being recorded. As to some of the comments on starting at the top and working down........duh duh dumb. I had done a few hundred of these 30.5-32 tires and I found the best way for me. I could change 2 of these tire in 2 hours, start to finish. As to seating the bead, either a Cheetah or a strap around the center of the tire worked for me. But, I only had to put straps around the smaller combine tires. These big ones were stiff enough to lower the jack and use some tire snot. Thank you for the comments and the nice words.

Next time start from the top and end at the bottom so could you use your own weight as leverage which would make it a lot easier.. just a tip.

Smaller bites bud and you would not fight it as bad. And use both your s bends in you bar. Looked like you were only using one of them. But good job boss yet another happy customer

I hate when people stand around me while im changing tires, those bars sometimes slip off and go flying. I prefer everyone step back and watch me struggle, most of the time we're out there at night with nobody around, we have to know how to do it by ourselves :)

starting at the top when doing a tire on the unit is not really always a good Idea on stiffer tires, you'll get to the bottom and cant get a good bite because of the ground. Then when you try to use a shorter bar you don't have enough leverage and end up straining even more. And WTF is with people not knowing what a combine looks like lol. Either way, combine tires can be pretty stiff depending on the manufacturer, this guy made it look alot easier than it is.

If you want to work clockwise around the wheel, I suggest putting the vicegrips at about the 11:00 position, then starting from there, that way, the tire will kinda pull itself into the drop center, rather than having to pull it up to the drop. Which means; easier work, and a not-so-sore back.

you fuckin idiots the front tires on combines are supposed to be put on that direction

@101savaged Finishing at the top is a breeze. just use the boom
@CTS246913 жыл бұрын
@cummins12vpower That's why you use your boom to hold the tire there instead of vise grips.

@funny1farm Put a delco on and be done with it. That's what I did and check you injectors and pump. My 7050 doesn't need ether unless it's below 40˚ F but I always plug in the block heater and even at -30˚ F it starts with out ether here in the North Star state. :-)

@amblefire Each model had different heft built into the rear end and transmission. Bigger axles for higher HP models, more or less clutch plates for each depending on hp, two or 4 pinion differential. There are a lot of differences. Many parts could still be swapped from one to another. I read once increasing torque by 10% decreases power train life by half. We run everything pretty close to stock hp. It's just smart.

Personally I think you showed the easy part of the job. I always find taking off the inside bead the hard part. I also start at the top, work both sides and finish at the bottom. Not such a big issue on little tyres like that but since I’m not 8’ tall there is no way I could finish at the top on a 800/70R38 that some of the JD headers now have in my area. Seriously thou a big congaz to any bloke who spends their day bashing tyres cause I know what sorta job it is regardless how they do it.
