What a lovely video. I always bring art supplies when traveling and then rarely actually use them. You created wonderful art.

I really like your art and how inspiring you are to others. Your positivity is contagious. And your art sketchbooks are so beautiful, messy but neat and the line work is full of energy. Contrasts can make an artwork deeper and more 2d instead of flat. Negative spaces might be a new place to go. Jo 😊New Zealand.

Helen, glad you are feeling better. Loved this video for many reasons but here are two. Firstly, I love how the happiness that art brings you just shines through you. It is contagious. Also, I loved seeing another view of your studio as you worked at your desk! I live for your vlogs.❤❤❤

Your sketchbooks are a dream! I'm drooling. I loved this video, and I am not even a visual artist, just an art lover (and a poet!) and I loved everything you talk about --and show-- here. My takeaway, which applies to any creative endeavor, is that you said while doing your art, you are not thinking about the end result. You do it for the "joy, the discovery and the delight." Just fantastic and beautiful!

Love this video. Thanks for talking about your process and for showing us some footage of you drawing in your sketchbook. It's good to know that you never start with the finished product in mind. It's a lot of pressure to start with the end in mind. You remind us to just have fun!

Hello again from Down Under where summer is still playing hide and seek with us! But what a ray of sunshine your videos always bring. Thank goodness you are feeling well again…long may it last. That quote is fantastic. We have learned this in a hard way with bad health for two family members and now make sure we do things while we can. Rumi is/was so right!

What a privilege it is to hear your story - thank you so much for being so transparent and sharing your journey to full time artist. This video, and really, your whole channel, is delightfully inspiring. I too was super arty as a kid, but when I started getting into my head as a teen, I was convinced I had 'technical' art skills, but that I just was not creative. I'm lucky in that I've been able to support myself with a 20+ yr career in STEM, but the past couple of years, I've decided to challenge my own story of not being creative by picking up my art supplies again, being vulnerable & reflective along the way. You were one of my inspirations for setting up my own YT channel, to document my journey back to a creatively fulfilling life. Step by step, I'll figure out how to support myself financially with this too, so I can spend more time doing the things I love. Thank you Helen x
