I think this translates to small club, worship, most music mixing. Thanks.

Love the SQ5… I’d work on that snare drum a bit. Very boxy between 400-800 and nothing above 2k. Release the top end and let it blend with the hats.

Can I jump on the band wagon? I've got touring experience. Self employed working with V2 Records on UK, Europe and worldwide tours. I can work as a session musician, stage technician or merch seller. Also, I'm a videographer with my own kit. If you have space for another nomad let me know! Peace. ✌

How does a FOH engineer pick what desk he is using for a tour? Is it sponsored, personal choice or advised by a system tech? Where do you go to try them out? Do you ever own them or just rent for a tour?

It’s on my main LR bus Adds some eq, hf control and I use the stereo width but honestly I don’t think that does much haha But the eq shapes the mix nicely 🫡

on ur opinion, gain or fader first??
@RattlinBonesClub
@RattlinBonesClub 25 күн бұрын
Set the gain first always to make sure the signal coming in is correct. Then I adjust the channel processing and group processing to try and keep my faders around unity for most control over the mix

Haha it doesn’t need need it. Some shows I was using a 32>13a plug converter to power it and it was fine. It’s just the standard rack power distro from the audio company and they send a bunch of converter cables for what’s needed

Please tell me how you fly with the console? Are you checking it in as luggage? And if so, aren’t you afraid that it will be damaged during loading/unloading, because airport workers really like to play football with such things((
@RattlinBonesClub
@RattlinBonesClub 28 күн бұрын
Checked in as standard luggage. Sometimes some airlines will charge more for oversized or overweight cases. You can’t fly with any case over 32kg max

i wanna hear some stories from before the country club days, the local festivals with horrible musicians and even worse gear, bands that have 6 weeks of rehearsals, drum kits tuned with rolls of tape, etc etc thats the FOH world i live in : )

Nice video! I'm glad there are more and more TM/Sound/Light/Manager doing videos like this to show what's happening behind the shows. I did some videos like this when I was a promoter but there were way smaller shows. Btw, stoked to see Chris here working with WSS or Enter Shikari. I met him at a show I promoted with only a couple of people. Now he's killing it for bands in front of the biggest crowds. Nice team you're in!

Most consoles connect to stage boxes via cat5, correct? Are these typically in place at festivals and shared by multiple bands or do you have to run your own out?
