Hello, i have a vacuum press but i dont know how to use it. I tried the process you show in the video but sometimes i get air bubbles after a couple of days (i use an adhesive foam board which is acid free) so i tried to add other adhesives (like carperters glue or 3M spray glue) but i also get the same air bubbles after a couple of days. What do you think i migh be doing wrong? what other type of glue can i use if im planning to glue to it a MDF sheet or a foam board? Great video By the way!!!

Hi, I’m printing off an A2 size print and want to put it inside just a regular black A2 frame. I know that overtime the print can warp/buckle with humidity etc. How can I prevent this without dry mounting? Like ideally I just want to place the print inside the frame and put the backing board thing up against it
@LIONPFSLtd
@LIONPFSLtd 2 ай бұрын
Hi, there's no way of guaranteeing that warping/cockling won't occur unfortunately, that's why we recommend dry mounting where possible. You could try using acrylic instead of glass as it offers better UV protection.

Does it stack the V nails easily with hardwood?
@LIONPFSLtd
@LIONPFSLtd 3 ай бұрын
Hi, yes it does when using hardwood V nails. However, if the wood is exceptionally hard (such as walnut) then the material needs to be removed. We recommend using the Hoffmann Frame Joiner to do this.

Which compressor would be sufficient for this underpinner? 25 or 50 litre? 👍🏻
@LIONPFSLtd
@LIONPFSLtd 4 ай бұрын
Hi, it depends on the number of frames you're making. If you're only doing a couple of frames a time then the 25L is fine but if you find yourself ever doing a higher volume run such as 20 frames or more then it's best to go with the 50L. It's best to get the largest compressor within your budget. That way you're covered for busy periods. A compressor needs time to cool down so it's not necessarily how many frames it does in a day but more about how many it does at one time.

I purchased the U400 and have found it to be inferior in the joining process. The interchangeable cartridges, and double insert of wedges are a wonderful feature. However, the clamp doesn't strongly hold the moulding together and EVERY corner needs to put in a vise.

What’s the difference between u400s?
@LIONPFSLtd
@LIONPFSLtd 6 ай бұрын
Hi, the main differences are that the U400 uses interchangeable cartridges, U400S does not. The U400 joins wider mouldings and you can switch between left and right hander operation with the U400. There's also a height adjustable stand on the U400.

Those bat brackets can be a bit expensive especially when I've got 10 cricket bats to frame. Nice way to mount them though. I've got a customer request to mount the bats onto astro turf/ faux grass, guessing these clips would work nicely....or think of another solution...

So im buying some original movie poster's. 27x40 and there being put in metal frames. The company offers to do dry mounting for free but should i? Is it recommended for originals or is it just better for the poster to be framed like normal?
@LIONPFSLtd
@LIONPFSLtd 11 ай бұрын
Hi, dry mounting original posters can decrease their value so we wouldn't recommend doing this. For conservation purposes it is preferable to put a small mount around the artwork so it can be hinged with tape. Alternatively, if it is framed in a normal way (up close to the glass), then ensure it is kept away from damp or humid areas. Hope this helps!
