That’s the wrong years for the 5.3 with AFM. That was 2007.5 and up. 2007 and before were bulletproof.

Very stupid 6.6 cubic inches engine is a 1.876x1.876x1.876 inch engine like a small electric engine on a drone. I'm surprised they didn't say it had 8 wheels and was capable of driving upside-down!!!😂😂😂😂

What I’m hearing is mostly the result of poor manufacturing quality. The rest can be blamed on bad engineering management.

The manufactures need Togo back to the 60’s and 70’s. Bring back the 289,302,283,327 and the original 318 and 383. The six cylinders such as the 300,225 slant six !

2016 GMC SIERRA Denali ultimate with the 5.3. Without afm, and DI , it would be a decent motor with excellent gas mileage. GM can solve this issue but won’t.

I'm the 3rd owner of a 2004 GMC Yukon SLT with a 4.8 vortec. I bought it 4 years ago with 169,000 miles on it. I now have 232,000 miles on and the engine still sounds as smooth and strong as ever. Not a tick or click even on cold starts. It runs like a top and all I've done is keep the oil changed. What is the reputation and track record of this engine? Any known issues or recommendations?

Any top rated engine list that puts Cummins 5.9 at #10 is a waste of time to watch, if you think a 7.3 powerjoke is better why did so many of us toss a loud glow plug eating low power abilty engine in the scrap and get us a what Cummins 5.9 , #1 best engine built, many go a million miles and thr SIMPLEST to work on. This guy knows very little about the real world of truck engines . Go to any truck or tractor pull and 95% will be 6 in a row for a reason less moving parts and long strong connecting rods give you torque He named many fair to good engines in the video but his numbering best to worst of the ten was a total fail ,.waste of my time

Subaru EJ motors are 4 cyl not 6, there are 3 families of motors made by Subaru with 6 cylinders those being the ER, EG and EZ series motors, and the EJ series ranges from 1.5L-2.5L, AI should know this lol such a lazily made video

The Triton I had was amazing. Well over 120,000 miles on it. I also never knew anyone that had issues with the Triton. None ever "sludged". None ever threw plugs. I cannot speak for the other builders but the fords are solid unless you're a fuckin idiot.

For non commercial applications under 5K, an honorable mention is the first modular 4.6L by ford. A crown vic, mercury marquis, econoline van, f150 mainstay for years as an underappreciated workhorse. Many are still out there with 700K plus grinding everyday. Pro tip: If you find one that's a 2 valve without variable valve timing, it might as well we bomb proof.
