Thanks for the video. When I try to detach the top unit after removing the 3 screws, 4 plastic plugs and 4 screws, it does not just pop off. Any thoughts?

what do you recommend for someone who needs a generator for a few weeks out of the year?
@SkinnySkinch
@SkinnySkinch Ай бұрын
@@ghostlight69420 any of the Chinese brands will do fine. if you run it daily or weekly all year long it may feel worth it to buy the Hondas but the harbor freight units are honestly really good for the money. you can buy 3-4 of them for the price of 1 Honda. You do the math. Buy the warranty and you pretty much have a HF anywhere you travel to it's hard to beat it.

Great vid! All I've been able to find is complete manifold swaps but I think the little donut seal is my real issue. Just wanted to know how much wiggle room I'd have or if I needed to keep going down the pipe unbolting everything. Would you or anyone recommend any type of paste or gasket material to help seal up and prevent failures?

Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how exciting it is to find the tear down of the exact same year and model of my jeep! I may have had a bit too much fun in some water and I am part of the way through the tear down and wanted an idea on how deep i could go without fully pulling the engine. Fingers crossed that i can skip the pistons all together.

Thanks for the video! I changed mine out today and you made it pretty easy. The little thing that holds the choke fell out when I took off the carb. I had NO idea what it hooked to or how it went back in. Came in, pulled up your video and saw where you hooked it to the choke. Worked great. Thanks!

I wish that you had included installing the push rods and rockers before the valve cover. Is there a special process for installing them? Did you use assembly lube? Or did you completely smother them in oil like i see other people do online? Thanks for the vids

I came to this video because I’m in the process of identifying where my tick is coming from. Allot of people say lifters and rocker arms. Everywhere on KZbin I’m only seeing people fix that issue on the 3.6 but none on the 3.8. To me they look totally different what would I replace that whole shaft arm?

This is probably pisted somewhere but want to know what is the difference between the original cover and the new style and can the pvc valve be replaced when needed on the new cover?
@deadlata9767
@deadlata9767 9 ай бұрын
He shows both covers in the video. The older style has a circular hole, while newer one is square. Some people still have issues with square hole one, and will drill some drainage holes. This engine doesn’t have a real pcv valve it is just an orifice. You can test if oil is coming out of the pcv valve by just running a hose off it into a some type of container and driving around. Some people use these catch cans permanently, and they are sold as aftermarket product.

I know this is old but you do realize there is a spinning shaft and hot coolant lines in that tunnel. I run wire through it all the time but I pull covers and zip tie to the loom. Seems like a bad idea without pulling the covers off. Or am I just paranoid?
