This is a sick version of the song. Only Crack The Sky could tame a Kix song.

I've been to 300+ concerts in my life, and I've never seen a crowd or heard of a fan base as devoted and lovingly crazed as a CTS crowd. They deserve it and earn it because of superb individual musicianship, great songwriting and that certain something that makes them more than the sum of their parts. Live, they are so tight they squeak and they love meetiing their fans and returning the love. Good and classy guys to top it all off.

Love CTS. They NEVER sold out and still today make some of the BEST music on the planet. Every now and then, I know it's kinda hard to tell, but they're still alive and well. So many bands exist today who are very good and very famous yet they have one tenth the writing and performing talent that CTS has imo. I share the info below with you because I know many CTS Fans remember the time and place when they FIRST heard CTS. First time I heard them was a 45 I picked up in 1975 from the cut-out section at a place called "Record City". Back then we didn't have Listening Stations or any way to preview music that was not on the local Top 40 radio station. As such, most of the really good bands were discovered by luck/happenstance. I selected the 45 rpm vinyl masterpiece 100% based upon the name of the band, "Crack the Sky". Their name alone said "this is no ordinary band". Meanwhile, (while on some Red Dragon blotter) I wuz at the record store and I was talking to a mirror image of what supposedly was to be me; and the eyes and the nose and the insignificant clothes supported the testimony.. AND it only cost 50 cents. It has been a love affair for almost a half century ever since. JP has such a special voice and writing talent like that of Peter Gabriel. Rick W is amazing as always on guitar. Joey D is the master of percussion and Teddy Bears. Joe M is a beast on the bass (one of the few bassists who plays the bass as a LEAD instrument). Jim G is now a flight instructor and getting very high. The newest members are all stellar musicians. Amazing band. Amazing Songs. They're one of the few bands who've never released a shitty song. Probably the BEST BAND many music fans have NEVER heard of..so, If YOU know ANYONE who likes 70s rock then LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THIS AMAZING BAND. You will be on their Christmas list and/or Tombstone, forever.: "Here lies George. He really loved Weed, Acid, Teddy Bears, and Crack the Sky, all thanks to his friend (insert YOUR name here)."

I heard these guys on college radio in the late 70s but didn't catch the name. It was years before I heard them again and got the name. Forgive me. I'm from Georgia and it wasn't a thing here. But now I've often wondered why they didn't get the credit they deserved. For instance, I believe they inspired Nirvana. Listen and tell me you don't agree. They invented the play/ pause thing Nirvana got so much credit for .

After listening to music on the radio for so many decades, I'm surprised that this is the first time I've heard of CTS and heard them play. I was very impressed by their music in a live performance. Some of the commenters seemed so concerned about many in the audience who were not dancing. Are they kidding? Why would anyone be dancing and not focusing on such a great live performance of a band with such highly talented and entertaining musicians? Anyway, before I saw this live performance, I heard the song (on video), "Don't Close Your Eyes" from their new album, 'From The Wood.' It's mostly an acoustically-oriented album with six of their original members playing. Again, I was very impressed by their great sound and performance. Check it out and "Keep on Rockin' in The Free World..."

This song/album has a special place in my heart. In the late 80's, a friend's local band was making an album. At first, Carey Zeigler was supposed to produce it, but bowed out due to time constraints. John Palumbo (!) ended up producing the album (and renaming the band from 'Creeping Jivey' to 'Arc of Ones'). During the recording sessions, apparently coinciding with FTG sessions, JP showed him the album art. It was funny, how he tried to describe it to me at the time (fail). So now every time I hear FTG I think of those days. Thanks guys, for all of your music, and the music you fostered as well! (Hi Barry Warsaw!) Just saw them at Ram's Head, and it was part of the opening section of the set all weekend!
