The MOST Amazing Band that has ever come down from an Acid Trip just to play for YOU. Just as special and unique today as they were when they released their first album "Crack the Sky" (1975), and "Hold On" / "Surf City" were released as a single. Thanks guys for hours, days, years, and decades of immense pleasure. Looking forward to what you come up with NEXT.

I got to the crack the sky game late and discoverd it in the early 90's but still one of my all time favorite bands.

I first heard this song on the radio at a gym in Palm Springs California back in 88 when I was 20 and never new the name of the song or the group nor did anyone else including various classic rock DJs in the LA area. I only found out about 20 years ago in Taiwan when a British guy who was passing buy and I was casually chatting with told me when I said the initial first line 'standing room only at LAX'. Ironic that this was a guy from the UK telling me in Taiwan.

This song/album has a special place in my heart. In the late 80's, a friend's local band was making an album. At first, Carey Zeigler was supposed to produce it, but bowed out due to time constraints. John Palumbo (!) ended up producing the album (and renaming the band from 'Creeping Jivey' to 'Arc of Ones'). During the recording sessions, apparently coinciding with FTG sessions, JP showed him the album art. It was funny, how he tried to describe it to me at the time (fail). So now every time I hear FTG I think of those days. Thanks guys, for all of your music, and the music you fostered as well! (Hi Barry Warsaw!) Just saw them at Ram's Head, and it was part of the opening section of the set all weekend!
