Nine years it took for the first writings of the apostle paul. What were the rest of the apostles doing during that time. i introduce the concept of chiasmus to your discussion and numeralogy. Then following this then if one looks at the contents page starting from revelation to Jude from then there is a backwards ordering of the epistles. Noting what is clearly stated in jude of the contents in human sense. Then it follows that there was a great falling away or a supernatural occcurence happened. Taking also into account the first two chapters of romans then it follows what is too dark to tell here. Who are you guys to speak with apostolic tones?

"Progressivism" is just man doing what is right in his own lives, just as the wicked judges of Israel did and brought God's judgment upon themselves.

Profound message that many today need to hear and heed before it is too late.

Bavinck's 4 volume Reformed Dogmatics is still the gold standard of all Christian Systematic Theologies every produced. However I understand this single-volume systematic theology represents Bavinck’s own distillation of his four-volume magnum opus. 110 years after its original publication, "The Wonderful Works of God" remains one of the finest single-volume systematic theologies ever written. 💯

To be baptized, a person must have awareness of his sins and his need for a Savior, repenting of his actions (Acts 2:36-38; Rom. 3:23; 6:23). He must hear the word of God (Matt. 28:18-20; Rom. 1:16; 10:14-17) and believe its testimony that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 20:30-31, Mark 16:16) who died on the cross and was raised from the dead to provide redemption for mankind (John 3:16; Rom. 5:6-10). He must confess this belief publicly (Rom. 10:9, Acts 8:26-40). A baby is incapable of doing these things. A baby taken by his parents to be baptized is not a Christian baby, just a wet baby. An actual baptism has not occurred. Baptizing a baby with the notion of making it a child of God reduces baptism to nothing more than a work. Mere works absent of faith cannot save. Moreover, it is a work performed on an individual by a third party, without his consent, or even his knowledge.

Thanks for those convoluted guesses. That tortuous explanation shows that equating circumcision with baptism is plausible only to those who are already committed to a reformed ideology. There is no clear teaching in the entire NT encouraging the baptism of infants and not a single _example_ of an infant baptism. Amazing!

How can you justify infant baptism with Jesus’s command to His disciples to baptism the people! They were to teach and preach and make disciples….what you, sir, are saying has NOTHING TO DO WITH JESUS MEANT! I grew up in the Evangelical Presbyterian church in Greece, but later was baptized as an adult because I believed my preachers were WRONG JUST AS YOU ARE WRONG!

This is not about mandatory per worldly interpretations but rather a natural process for ALL MANKIND. It’s a natural process of FAITH in God, Christ and the Holy Spirit who has given US this out of Love for us His children. It’s like taking food out from under our children at infancy. On the idea of waiting to baptize at a later age and teenagers deciding their religious fate or Baptism at an age when they’re able to make the decision or choice is utterly unacceptably ridiculous!!! Yes of course Baptism is for any age IF for some unfortunate reason they were not Baptized in infancy but never institutionally or collectively declare NOT to Baptize at infancy. Baptism has nothing to do with freedom of choice at the price of our children being lead astray. The latter is a modern invention and not a traditional concept of FAITH. Our Christian faith is based on a FIRM AND SOLID FOUNDATION. How can we as the keepers of our FAITH let Satan enter via argumentative circles over the issue of a CHOICE left up to OUR CHILDREN? How…? I faithfully believe and know IN MY HEART that there is in fact ONE universal Church and ONE GOD. How can we compromise this grandeur with abominations formed in modern day, worldly influenced, circles and arguments? We have to remain alert and vigilant and know when Satan is in the works versus the priority of faith. A teenager and maturity is a long thing coming to leave it up to them in a questionable stage and identity stricken mindset with wisdom in the lacking. The AGE OF ACCOUNTABILITY is a lesser soul state barely entering the spiritual challenges and tribulations of life; on the other hand the state of infancy is a pure state, a beautiful and perfect stage of innocence and love, that is naturally and definitively a yes to the Holy Spirit. I guarantee you Satan had his hand in the cookie jar with the pathetic idea of “How about baptizing them when they’re teenagers?” The whole idea is an oxymoron. Keep a watchful eye out Shepherds of the Flock!

The suffering of Christ put into the believer's life is for the continual revelation of God's grace. It is part of the tools used by the Spirit for us to know God in Christ fully.

I think he sometimes caricatures other apologetic methodologies and confuses the methodology with evangelism. Other scholars promoting alternative apologetic methodologies are not saying something like "Victory! Antony Flew is a theist, let's call it a day".

MLJ believed in the baptism of the Holy Spirit which most PCA Reformed churches pushback on. What say you?

My favorite pastor is Martyn Lloyd-jones. What a gift from God when I discovered this pastor. There’s a MLJ app with many of his sermons organized. I had been reading his books for years, but these sermons- hearing MLJ’s passion and logic on display - is a blessing. I keep praying for God to raise another MLJ in our wicked generation. Too many pastors are “people pleasers”. Mlj was on fire for God’s glory and Biblical truth; yet, As powerful and non compromising as MLJ was in the pulpit, he was equal kind and extremely compassionate to individuals in personal/spiritual counseling. Yes, I read MLJ biography to learn more about this godly man.

Common Grace leads you right down the road the CRC has taken: lady pastors, LGBTQ+, and ultimately, universalism. Some will object and say that CvT wasn't these things. Of course he wasn't, but his logic will get you there, just a smaller step at a time. Maybe your kids won't trans themselves, but your grandkids or great grandkids will with common grace. It a doctrine from Satan himself.

I like the way you use the word, "pattern" to organize your thoughts on God's Triune work in creating. It reminds me of my discovery of the interpretive tool, "form and substance" that specifically occurs in the Book of Hebrews where the writer tells us to remember that the substance, "Jesus Christ," is not the "shadow."

This was a good message especially with the state of the world today. Apocalyptic literature should be approached with careful understanding and maturity so we will not fall into the trap of interpreting it too literally nor neglecting it altogether. The Lord is definitely coming back but it is up to the Triune God to do it timely in accordance with His wise and Holy counsel. Our job as the church is to make the Gospel be known to every creature until Christ comes again. Soli Deo gloria!
