love got7- they have more of an r&b flavor throughout their discography and i think their live vocals are stronger than lots of kpop coming out today. and their individual projects are all fantastic as well. mark tuan is american, jackson wang is chinese, bambam is thai, and the others are korean. all late 20s/early 30s. imo they are super underrated. i agree you should definitely do the killing voice and you calling my name. theyre definitely a fun watch live- you can see their personalities and chemistry. and theyre good friends with bts.

I suggest after MVs from that era, you listen to the albums ... chronologically. You would love and appreciate the progress and growth but lets be for realz they are already great from the very beginning like how much more now is mind blowing. Their b-sides are 10000% * chefs kiss *, you would be devouring their discography truly with happiness!

@@HansReactsNYC I did a deep dive on this group after hearing the Killing Voice and after hearing all their Bsides....theyve moved way up on the leaderboard of biased groups. Nothin but vocals for days. RnB Queens and stunning looks. Just make sure you check oit the b sides after your MV journey...

You are going to be tempted to skip ahead to newer comebacks, but I strongly urge you to go chronologically through the Red Velvet releases. All songs, including b-sides. You'll have copyright problems with the Japanese releases, so those will probably need to be on Patreon or something similar. But chronological is the best way to experience the rollercoaster of Reveluv. I promise you, every release will have mind blowing songs.

@@HansReactsNYC Yep! The "verses" after the first chorus are actually the pre-bridge, with Taeyong's rap being the bridge. There's two more verses and one chorus before that!

Yep, Happiness was the very first thing they put out, and while it was refreshing, a bit more experimental musically, it wasn't anything totally out of the norm. But with releasing Be Natural only 2 months later they definitely turned heads in the industry. Girl Groups, or female idols in general, had been categorized as either "cute" or "girlcrush/sexy" and nothing in between really for a long time back then, thus Red Velvet really helped conquer that stereotype with their dual concept! Especially because they killed both concepts and nothing felt forced/out of place. And yes, you definitely need to check out their b-sides! Their title tracks are amazing, but those songs are always chosen for a specific reason: they need to be flashy and performancey, while also being able to carry the concept of the album - which doesn't necessarily makes them the better songs, and since Red Velvet doesn't do filler tracks, it's the b-sides where it's at most of the times ♥

Fun little trivia fact I don't think the guide covered. Some people seem to think Yuri was a decision to add after the group's initial debut... However if you pause Happiness at 12 seconds you'll see Yuri making her MV debut at the bottom of the screen in red. 😁

So excited for your Red Velvet journey! Red Velvet has the best B sides, not one skip in their discography. Many could be title tracks. Maybe ay some point you could consider going through their discography in chronological order? It would be fun to see your favorites if you did a ranking list. BTW, The rapper you liked so much in the Be Natural is Taeyong - leader of NCT! He was featured before his NCT debut.

I'm not sure if you knew this already, but Be Natural is actually a remake! It was originally released in 2000 by S.E.S., SM's first ever girl group (they debuted in 1997). Their MV is also in black and white, but has a very different vibe than Red Velvet's. I hope you can react to their original version as well!

Happiness and Be Natural came out 2 months apart. However, based on their voices, Be Natural might have been recorded during their rookie days because we heard it in one of their SMRookies videos. Ice Cream Cake came out together with Automatic as they were still doing their Red&Velvet duo releases

Happiness came out August 2014 and Be Natural was released October 2014. REMEMBER, in their earlier releases they did RED (HAPPINESS) and VELVET (BE NATURAL) concepts near or at the same time. Just like how they did ICE CREAM CAKE (RED) and AUTOMATIC (VELVET) while introducing Yeri. They eventually stopped doing that and either drop RED genre/concept, VELVET genre/concept, and of course RED AND VELVET aka RED VELVET a combo of both.
