HELLEVATOR is honestly the best pre debut song a Kpop group has ever released! ❤

Hellevator: first, predebut song, written, choreographed, and produced in a week!!

"Hellevator": Yes, it was their first MV and it was made pre-debut as a project that JYP had them do as part of their survival show. You might know that, unlike most other K-Pop groups that are pieced together from individual competitors on survival shows, Stray Kids was put together by Bangchan and their survival show was basically a fight to be allowed to debut with all 9 original members. JYP made them write an original song and then told them it would be made into an official MV. They knew that JYP was threatening to cut members that he didn't feel stood out enough, so it was pretty heavy. The premise being that they are n Hell fighting and clawing their way out together. On top of that, Chan had been a trainee for 7 years already which is a really long time to go without debuting. Some of the other members had also been trainees for a while, some didn't click well with other JYP trainees, and they all had a huge weight on them to find their place and make their mark in a very cut-throat industry. But consider the level of this piece and it was before they even had their debut. They are insanely talented at every level and have only improved over time. Crazy this: when they first performed the song for JYP after he commissioned it he had them switch around parts. Hyunjin was originally supposed to do the rap in the bridge but JYP didn't like it. He asked Lee Know if he'd ever rapped before and he said no, but he wanted to try. It was an iconic moment in the show; Han reached over and held Lee Know's hand as he attempted the rap ion the spot. It looked like a show up support for his friend, which it was, but he was also secretly squeezing Lee Know's hand to help him with the cadence of the rap. And that was when we learned that Lee Know is a very capable rapper. "District 9": Yes, ALWAYS with the easter eggs and cross-references. Always with a theme and a message, even the ones that seem like they are just fun. Definitely a "false world" Matrix theme here. The significance of the name refers to their 9 original members and that this is their territory. The lyrics throughout the song reflect this theme. And yes, it can be stated that, in general, they lean toward a darker aesthetic but not all of their songs are like that. Some of them are peppy and even sweet. Changbin, in particular, really loves the dark aesthetic on stage. "My Pace": You mentioned missing the lyrics which is very typical with SKZ. A good idea is to simply watch it through once and then go back and watch it for the lyrics. Trying to read the lyrics and catch the visuals at the same time will inevitably lead to missing key elements which only becomes more true as you get further into their catalog. Really, if you think about it, all three songs have uplifting lyrics in different ways. This song is more peppy but it's really saying no one else compares to them. They wing the race no matter who/ what they are racing against. In District 9 it's a message about how they are breaking through the barriers of the industry that would try to box them in and claiming the world as their own. If you can't get on board then get out. And in Hellevator it's about their struggles but it's also an anthem about refusing to give up or give in, that they are going to get to the top no matter what and they will do it together.

District 9 represents that they are breaking free from the normal kpop music and doing their own thing, It's their District and they do their own music, There were nine members during this time. Woojin left the group in 2019 and is now a solo artist.

So Chan basically built the group around his rap group 3RACHA he had with Changbin and Han. While they never officially debuted, 3RACHA has like 36 tracks from pre Stray Kids on their KZbin channel. So yes, Changbin, Han and Chan had been rapping, writing and producing for a few years prior to this. District 9 because at the beginning there were 9 members. One left in 2019 for reasons unknown. The members were ages 16 - 20 in this. For more backstory on District9 watch their trailer called I Am Not Hellevator is still a highly loved song in the fandom. Chan trained for 7 years and during that time took music production classes as well. A recap... They debuted in 2018 They are ages 23 - 27 Fandom name is Stay #2 Best Selling Artist in U.S 2023 #3 Globally Best Selling 2023 They are unique for several reasons... First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company. Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write. Third, they have written and produced about 99% of their music. Numbers of songs each member has copyrighted according to Korean Music Association (KOMCA) so far... Bang Chan 200 Changbin 172 Han 164 Hyunjin 27 Felix 23 I.N 21 Seungmin 20 Lee Know 17 While they can all do everything they do have 3 different subunits... 3Racha... Bang Chan, Chang Bin and Han which are the main producers and lyricists. They are always credited as 3Racha. 3Racha Achievements - Producers of Consecutive Five Time Billboard 200 #1 album debuts - only group in history - Hot 100 Hitmakers - 3rd, 9th, 11th Most Credited Idols on KOMCA - Produced Albums Sold Over 20 Million Copies - Japan Hot 100 Hitmakers - 100+ Weeks on Hot 100 Lyricists - 100+ Weeks On Hot 100 Composers - 2023 Asia Artist Awards Best Creator - Makers of Time Magazines 2020 #8 Best Song (their song Backdoor) Danceracha... Lee Know (in charge of leading dance practices), Felix and Hyunjin. They also contribute to the choreography. Vocalracha... Seungmin and I.N While the songs are hype they always have significant meaning to them. Their lyricism is always insane. Since they are so experimental their sound has its own genre and they have a very diverse discography. Example... Gods Menu, Back Door and Case 143 all completely different sounds. Not sure what you've watched so far... I'll give you a few more older ones that are totally different from each other. Grr (predebut) Grow Up (predebut) Get Cool Chronosaurus Levanter N/S Also recommend 2024 long guide by Chandoras world. It's 2 hrs long but really good.

I think the youngest was 16 and most were 17 or 18. wrote composed produced by them even did the choreo I suggest you spend the time to check out a guide. The long 2024 one is the best at the moment really gives you an insight into them as a group and as individuals. District 9 was their debut and did represent the industry they survive in and being part of a machine. They produce introductions to their albums on release they explain some of the story behind the songs so good.

District 9 referred to thevfsct that there were 9 of them initially. One left about a year after debut. It was basically, they were making their own way, so it was their district.

Loved these reactions! Definitely look at the lyrics for My Pace. They're deep/cool as hell, and the mv will make more sense❤. Stray kids have SO MANY different sides.

Theres their pre-debut album that shows a bit more of their versatile side in genre's but still a bit more on the heavy darker themed side. The tracks on it are YAYAYA, School Life, Grr Law of Total Madness, GLOW, Spread My Wings and 4419; with Grrr Law of Total Madness and Spread My Wings having their own MVs if you wanted to also check them out. They came out with these songs during their survival show and they went through with putting them on the pre-debut album, Mixtape. Just a small little insight to what they also had going on before their debut album with District 9.

Okay Hans, I got another Ateez recommendation for you!! I was rewatching your Ateez killing voice reaction, and came across where you had asked if Mingi, one of the the rappers, if he could sing. Soooo I really would like to you react to Youth, by Mingi and Yunho - Ateez!! You won’t be disappointed!!🤭🫶🏽❤️

Their MV's are still heavily themed etc...I just think a lot goes over a lot if peoples heads but when u break them down they're genius same as most of their songs...even the one's that seem all over the shop aren't it's all purposeful and full of meaning and they do carry into each other in ways...some may carry into 5 songs ahead and may only be a tiny part but it links up. In saying 5 songs ahead it's a lot more but the upside-down city scene here in Hellavator...then check out Maniac years later...and the intro trailer to 5Star. There's heaps of link ups and that's a small one. The elevator and key themes are widely spread but there's too many to dive into

Definitely recommend watching the video once, then coming back and catching the lyrics, or maybe watching a lyrics video if that would be easier! Bang Chan, the leader and the one who picked the other "Stray Kids" has spoken a bit about how difficult it was for him being from Australia and coming to Korea to train. The other song you watched last time, Social Path, speaks on his training time as well, and how he was judged and felt like the "alien of the town" and was told to give up a lot. Han, one of the other lyricists/producers in 3Racha literally has a solo song called "Alien". The reason I bring this up, is because a lot of their earlier songs were encouragement for those that feel like they are different, alone, not enough to stop comparing with others and just try as hard as they can for their dreams. Ignore the naysayers, the established societies rules, and break out to be the most you you can be. Since most if not all of the songwriters were teeneagers/young adults, their lyrics tended to flesh out their struggle with becoming adults and the weight that comes with. Oh and if all of their songs are grungy like that? Nope lol Awkward Silence, Hoodie Season, Astronaut, Get Cool, Case 143, Youtiful, and Waiting for Us are a few that come to mind with a funner/sentimental feel! 😄
