Nice pedal!! Too bad the verbal parts are terribly done. I can barely understand a word said. Oh well.. the pedal's merits speak for themselves. I'm gonna look into purchasing this baby!! 👍👍

The 59 sounds darker, fuller, fatter and cuts through well. The PAF sounds scooped as if it has a face mask on.

do you make custom pick guard to be able to put whatever to a strat? i mean , from minis, to dearmonds, to 3 humbuckers, to tv jones.. i am thinking in buying a 3 humbucker strat only for this purpose, to be able, to load diferent pickguards. but i need to find a place to make the pickguards ( hopefully in europe)
@humbuckersoup757123 күн бұрын
Hi, right now I get all my custom pick guards from FAV Guitars in Paso Robles, CA: [email protected] - Ask for AJ and tell him that Kevin with Humbucker Soup sent you. AJ is awesome and his work is fantastic.

One important thing to note is that the late 70s Firebird used two different pickups in the neck and bridge. The neck pickup was similar to the 60s models, which had two alnico bars as polepieces and were wound to a little over 6k with 42 AWG wire (about as much as a strat pickup at the time, but split between two smaller bobbins). The 70s bridge pickup had one huge ceramic magnet in between two high-wound coils that were rotated 90 degrees (aka the Bill Lawrence Sidewinder design). Judging by the tone, this sounds like a bridge model, while the neck model would be significantly brighter than the mini-HB. Henry J era FBs then used two ceramic bars in traditional FB bobbins with a high wind, sort of blending the two 70s designs together. Other winders, and the more recent Epiphone FBs, went back to variations of the 60s wind (just usually with a hotter bridge, and/or a hotter overall wind in the case of Epiphone). Just some useful info for anyone learning about Firebird pickups. Don't draw any general conclusions about their tone from this video. While it was a great comparison for 70s vintage pickups, a ceramic sidewinder sounds VERY different from a traditional Firebird pickup.

i wouldn't recommend swapping the power tube type it's the preamp that matters the most, the output transformers was designed for one type so it's not only bias. instead just swap v1 for something good (an old mullard or ge for example) and you will hear a major difference. ive upgraded many amps using vintage tubes i usually don't bother with power tubes at all.
