Super helpful vid. I haven’t used flats yet but want to try it out, turns out the fenders are the exact sound I’m going for. Saved me a lot of money by getting the right set from the get go

Really well done comparison / review vid. I am caving in and shopping flatwounds for the first time in 46 years. Prog guy, but I just bought my first P bass, a GORGEOUS Japanese made 60s P. I think it screams for flats. While I liked the upper mids and top end on some of the other strings, the Chromes just had such enormous punch down low. Probably going with those. Kudos and thanks!

Pointless video, very well done but all the basses should have the same strings. At the end of the day a P bass sounds like a P bass, just a meat and instrument that bores me to tears lol. I've bought and sold dozens of them over the years trying to get the hype but just can't. Apart from the Stingray I've found that single pickup basses just don't offer any excitement. Can't say I didn't try though. Full marks for a good video though.

The Ernie Balls are the closest to Roundwounds. I believe for somebody who wants Flatwounds for the feeling but the sound more then Roundwounds will be happy with the EB

Ive had both of these on a bass for over 2 years each, la bella (despite their terrible QC) wins by a mile. Once they sound good, they never stop, and are totally even across the set. Jazz flats sound decent out the packet, but quickly die to a point of having no top end flatwound clank at all, which for me was a deal breaker. Also the jazz flats E and A feel very different to the D and G, like the winding is different. If you are deciding between them, i'd highly recommend the la bella standard gauge. That is, if you can get a set that isnt faulty. I put two decent sets on both p basses, and they are never coming off.

The one with the beefiest neck is the winner for me. I have sold two 1975 P basses that had thinner necks. I use my 68 and 73 telecaster basses daily.

another epic content as always. I am currently using a black edition DCX Bass in EQ mode as a tone shaper with my Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon. Now, I'm just waiting for my OE Bass Rig 64 Black to arrive to add to my minimalist fly rig. I plan to place the Bass Rig at the end of the chain (EBMM Stingray 4 > DCX Bass > DG Alpha Omega Photon > 64 Black). I intend to use the DCX Bass as a boost or for my clean tone, and have my Darkglass drive the Bass Rig. Considering that they are all preamps, would it be too much to have three preamps on one board? If you can please create a content stacking pre amps like origin with darkglass would be killer.

Also the Fenders, have them on my P-bass and just some people are saying, it has a bit of a sharper bite than all the others and that's what I like about it.

Il 50 a tono 100% ha una marcia in più. Col tono chiuso il 60 è un filo più ciccio. Le corde sono simili come età? Perché il 50 è decisamente più brillante a toni aperti
