What a F’in waste of $. After dropping 1400$ on a phase 4 this past March (n that was After a 10% drop bc was ‘23 model) it was mission impossible to find a sling that fit this 33” (40” cam end to end- even w 1 co that advertised it would fit). Then I’m basically at mathews mercy to buy a (get this) $100 sling that’s Actually a string Protector n doesn’t have a sling so I can ride/ walk into field !? Seriously?! So the company advise me to buy this SCS kit - 2 small plastic mini ‘versa buttons’ n a bs haul rope for F’in $60! So 160 + tax n shipping n Still NO way to ride a bike w it over shoulder (naturally il rig it up but Shouldn’t have to). They added, but the sling too. F them. I’m Done w that company. What a Horrible experience over what should b a 35-60$ piece of padded gear-a Sling. Can’t wait to see them n other companies that sell slings/gear at the nxt Harrisburg Pa expo n voice my complete disdain for what amounts to nothing short of ripping off their customers.

I have had them all, started out with a tenpoint went to ravin, dumb move and have had scorpyds, killer instinct swat x1 and acquired a tenpoint 505 last year. Nothing even comes close to this magnum bow. This thing is shooting a 405 grain arrow with a 100 grain tru glo titanium x 4 blade, deadly out to 80 yds. The farthest I shoot deer is 60 yards because it shoots 505 grain arrow at 475 fps. Killer bow!!
@brianburkhardt77127 күн бұрын
Depending on what ya want to spend. Tenpoint is the most dependable. My first tenpoint xbow was a titan extreme over 10 years ago, loved the bow shot a dandy with it at 50 yds. I sold that bow to a gentlemen that had a bad shoulder. We'll this is 2024 and he shot a nice buck with it last year, I was very happy to hear that the bow still around. Wicked ridge is made by tenpoint, before I owned the titan extreme I owned that, I gave that to my son in law, he is still hunting with that bow, that was the invader. What I am saying is. In my gun room I have a killer instinct swat xp, I love this bow small acurate and fast, problem, I have replaced limbs. I also have a scorpyd deathstalker and it shoots very well, same issue limbs. I now hunt with the tenpoint nitro 505, it has the cooking and decoding devise built into handle. I can cook and decock up in stand hence that really helps limb life on bow. Ravin makes a good bow but same issue I get to liking it and 2 years in limb issues. Tenpoint is the best out there in my opinion they are salty that is why they offer the Wicked ridge line. I hope this helps.

Good info. I keep a mini target and an arrow with target tip in my truck. As soon as I walk back I grab them and decock that way. 1 time while visiting my in-laws I borrowed my FIL Mission crossbow. After an unsuccessful hunt I went to decock by hand and somehow forgot to remove the arrow first! Could've gone really bad

3:19 strictly speaking great optics are not needed for most things, ok im not a crossbow guy but i would like to get into them without spending a car payment on one, i am however into astrophotography which has taught me a lot about optics, the ting is you guys are using yours for spotting a thing and pointing your weapon at it so most optical flaws in cheap glass are pretty much irrelevant to you inless its the REALLY cheap atuff that didnt even use optical glass. I think the most important thing for you guys is going to be depth of field and the built in crosshairs/ their adjustments. Heck im sure if i were to plug my astro camera into a hogh end rifle/bow scope it would have many of the same flaws cheap to medium priced refractor teleacopes have.

I took my zebra strings off when i bought my V3X new and put Gas strings on. My zebra strings are back ups i have the SAS system to change in the field. My bow stays in time just imo. That is why mathews now has match strings on there bows. They knew zebra strings were bad
@followthefanchersАй бұрын
Not true, zebra strings ARE MATHEWS strings. Some people do not know that, and mathews has been using them for years and years because they are great! They upgraded the strings because technology allowed it. Why would you put strings in a bow from another company that has nooooooo resting behind them versus the thousands of hours of test that mathews has behind their strings??????

Hey brother! So glad that y'all had a good time. And yes y'all did spoil us with those big Elk. The most important thing is spending time with your dad in the woods making awesome memories. I'm looking forward to seeing more trips with your family and deer hunting with your son. Y'all have a safe deer season and fill that freezer. God bless brother 🙏🏻.

Tough to do all that and not be able to harvest some meat, but it’s not about the kill. The memories will make you smile in time. I’d love to know the cost of a trip like this and what it takes to pull off a hunt like this.
@followthefanchersАй бұрын
Cost is minimal, only because we have done it so long and already have so much gear if that makes sense. A fellow can take 1,500$ and have a great hunt. Save all year for it and it’s not bad

Getting an elk is just a bonus. The time you get to spend hunting with your dad is the most important part. Those memories will last you a lifetime. In a few weeks I'll be headed to my mom and dads in Grayson, KY to bow hunt whitetails with my 83-year-old dad. It's something I look forward to every year. Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us. God bless you and the family. Your Freind, Brian Runyon.
