Not fully, unfortunately. There is a world called "Juicier" that someone built their own mesh editing system, but it's fast enough to make an avatar or something similar. There are primitives that you can make into an avatar, but that's about as far as it goes for now.

@Stellanora11 ай бұрын
That's normal, as the raycast from the dev tool can only hit colliders. Once the inspector is open, press the up arrow with the two purple lines, and it will take you to the root of the avatar. From there, you can continue from 9:40

Thanks for this tutorial. Coming from Logix, I find protoflux confusing... to say the least. After successfully building a simple button (a transparent box with a small sphere inside changing color when the box is pressed), I was hoping to get a second button, by simply duplicating the first button. But the buttons are not independent, I press one button and both spheres turn green...

It's not just furries. While furries do make up a good portion of the resonite population, there are plenty of other non-furry avatar worlds and people who are not furries. For example, the Japanese community primarily uses anime avatars.

oh wait this isn't Resonite? I thought you said you had a resonite NPC fighter game? which one is better with NPCs, Resonate or NeosVR?
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
Resonite is NeosVR, it's the successor that the devs have full rights to. NeosVR is practically dead at this point. But everything in this video can be easily done in Resonite, and this world still exists there. I do need to fix it up due to the migration process, but there are other things like this out there, too.

@@Stellanora , Thanks for the response! That's good to know! Question, how close is the ground work for Resonite to become The Oasis from Ready Player One? Do you think it will at least kick S@box's ass? I'm wondering who is going to win the race to the fully custom avatar, velocity-bonus swinging, challenging NPCs, endless adventure future of VR.
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
@AnotherCoyote to be honest, it's kinda already there, minus performance limitations. There is still a very long way to go for it to be completely like the Oasis but it's the closest thing I've seen so far. S&ndbox is more an alternative as that's more a direct successor to Garry's mod.

@@Stellanora WOAH that's high praise! I'll definitely be checking it out... or at least looking for tutorials on programming NPCs for Resonite. I was hoping for a while there we would get 'ThirdRoom' which was built off the blockchain from the super encrypted Matrix/Element chat client, but sadly JUST as they were about to implement custom avatars for players it got canned. S@box looks like it's puttering around and may not care to release as anything for another 4 or 5 years... SO... I guess it's up to Resonite to deliver '7 Days to Die' style fun.. though I'm already enjoying the VR mod for 7 Days to Die especially now that you can import your own VROID avatars! But whoever can do survival better will win the internet. Like, literally.

Is it also possible to import materials? In the 3D model I have, the material for the body part has a fur shader with shell based fur. Because I haven't found a way to import something like that yet
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
Not currently, you'd have to recreate them using the ingame material / shaders. You can make them using the dev tip, opening your context menu with the hand the dev tip is equipped to, select create new then materials. In your case you would probably want xiexie toon under pbs materials, or fur material but you'd need a noise texture and that one isn't cell shaded. Then just poke the orb through the material slot to apply it (similar to textures), or drag and drop from the top of the material inspector. If you use the material tip you can also grab the slot you want to convert the materials on, open your context menu with the slot still held so it shows its name, and click convert all. Then just select the material you want.
@Killertamagotchi Жыл бұрын
@@Stellanora The fur material was created with Warren's Fast Fur Shader
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
@Killertamagotchi Oh, in that case, the closest you could get is the fur material. It still needs to be reworked (a lot of the materials do), but you could get a similar look to that shader. It does take some work to get it working correctly, I was planning on making some material tutorials, but I won't have time this week.

how do you get it to import the textures with it? i only get a model without the textures altho it loads with textures in unity. also the AvatarRenderSettings doesnt work on my avatar
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
The texture would have had to already be applied to the model file before in the program it was originally created in, not applied through shaders in unity. I show how to apply the textures from 6:40 on tho. And, for avatar render settings, make sure the check box is checked for near clip and try de-equiping and then re-equiping the avatar for it to initialzie.
@InfVR Жыл бұрын
@@Stellanora yea. Solved the texture issue by just applying them manually. the near clip, tho checked and initialized by switching between avatars still did not really work.
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
@@InfVRyou say it's not really working, so just clarifying but do you see it clipping a bit but not enough or just not clipping at all? In either case tho try increasing the near clip value to something much larger just to see if it's working (like 0.5 or 1)

@@Stellanora I increased the near clip from the recommended 0.1-0.5 up to 100 in increments with no change on every increment to how far away it clips still seeing my snout and whiskers clip at the same distance (which is right up in my face)

@@InfVR hmm, okay. Just making sure but the slot the near clip is on has turned orange, when you're inside the avatar, and the component / the slot the component is on is enabled? Can Resonite reasonably handle NPC enemies and rollback code for video game sims/worlds with more than 4 players at a time?
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you are meaning by rolling back code but yes, Resonite can easily handle NPCs with way more than 4 players at a time. Look at the first video I posted on this channel, I built a NPC enemy system for slimes that you fight, and we had 15 people in there once (was a little hectic but still was running ok).
@SolarpunkJackal Жыл бұрын
@@Stellanora Oh AWESOME! I'll check it out! Also, rollback is what they use in Team Fortress 2 and all other first person shooter games, to make sure when a player fires a bullet at another player, the bullet and the players aren't affected by lag and it remembers the position of the players in sight when the bullet was shot in their general direction, so even if that player is lagging, they can't teleport around and dodge bullets unfairly like they do in every VRChat game with guns. No FPS or game with guns and enemies is fair unless there's rollback code keeping track of each moment in time where everyone is the moment they or one of the NPCs uses their attack. for example I can't hit a single person with a sword OR gun shot in VRChat arena game worlds because everyone is teleporting around using and extorting lag cheats, so there's just no point to playing those games, even though I'm on a faster internet connection. All because of the complete lack of rollback code.

Yeah, since the BZ protogen has modular parts (I also think the bones aren't named right for Resonite) it can be more difficult to import. Luckily for you tho, Kulza has already imported the BZ protogen and you can find it in the public folder here: resrec:///U-Kulza/R-4c676883-51af-41ce-84ed-cc4e57d52758 (just copy paste that link into Resonite, save the folder that spawns to your inventory inside Resonite, and it should be in your inventory)

while it is neat to work on avatars ingame I wish there was also a way to work on them outside of the game, with a UI built for it, and then import that into the game, or something. Like some kind of a "resonite engine" where you can program things outside of the game, apply textures and all that, then just import the whole resonite avatar or item all at once.
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
There was talk from the devs of adding a DCC link (that might not be the right name, but something like that) so people could link any game engine (Unity, Godot, etc) into Resonite to build things as an option. That probably won't come for a while, tho unfortunately. In the meantime desktop isn't bad for building things in general with free cam and snapping to inspectors and flux, but it's not perfect either. I have a tutorial for desktop free cam on my channel, just the UI is old as it was made for Neos, but here's a new one someone else made if you're interested kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6PKaXiYfa2dpbs

Metallic maps work kinda weirdly- turned my entire avatar metallic instead of their mechanical arm.
@Stellanora Жыл бұрын
That's because metallic maps mean a different thing here. We use them for changing how reflections look then masking out smoothness or metallic (I.e. you can put a reflection sphere texture in there for various effects). I'm not 100% sure on this, but if you use the dev tool and open your context menu, then click create new -> material -> PBS -> PBS splatmat (I forget the name of the material but something like that) and then you can place that material on the avatar the same way you put texture on a material (I.e. poke the orb through the material slot and click). That one should have a metallic or smoothness *mask* which is probably what you're looking for. I could be wrong, though, as I'm a little rusty with my materials, so I'd recommend asking in the discord in the description if that doesn't work
