Is it the handles that are heavy or the rope itself?

Do you ever cut your ropes or do you only use knots? I start with knots but most of the time cut them to length once I’m happy with the length however having said that, a lot of ropes loose their balance / weight distribution and sometimes if a rope length is too short (like my long handle 4mm like in this video) the rope looses its flow almost like the rope is too light for the handles. I hope this makes sense? My long handle ‘replica’ to your one in this vid is the x-lite long handle 4mm for Ali Express but after I found my length and trimmed it, its almost like the cable lost its weight so now any time the rope gets near itself (cross overs, side swings etc) it just wants to tangle… I’m not sure if this is the quality of the cable or it’s just to light for the length I’ve cut it to for of the handles. Either way big love ❤

I've done both in the past to experiment. The knots have the advantage of not being permanent.

I still struggle with it. If I plan it first and think about it, I usually catch the rope. But if I just use this technique occasionally and automatically when “it feels right,” I can pull it off. It’s kinda hard to explain but I think I need to just keep practicing. Good to see you’re still jumping, brother. I’m still using the Rhythm Rope and I’ve moved from Planet Fitness to the YMCA.

I agree. It usually works better when it's second nature. I still trip a lot with this one.

Buddy Lee Rope Master or this one ? Which one do you recommend ?
@JumpRopeVeteran
@JumpRopeVeteran 21 күн бұрын
It depends on what you're looking for. If you want a lighter rope you can move more quickly, Elite is your choice. If you want a heavier freestyle rope with more feedback, Buddy Lee is your choice. 💯 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX29h6qljqt6jJYsi=iWchTMg0T6NT5DLN

Pretty accurate review! Did you get the ‘performance’ version of this? Same thing but the writing is now engraved in the handles.. Definitely a rope for the warmer months. Above 20 degrees C it’s very good. Below that and it tangles like crap 😔 Also, I’ve had the same couple of ropes and they’re coming up to a year so not sure if you got a faulty one but I haven’t had a rope snap on me yet. I skip 5-6 days a week (sometimes 7 - you know the addiction!!!) for warm ups and cool downs and usually stop at 1k skips which takes around 15-20 minutes. (1k PB is 9 minutes for any number nerds lol). I definitely found mine hard wearing. I paid £28 direct from the online store (but they charge shipping) for a set with a spare rope and the EXACT same set was £7 from uncle Ali. Obviously I doubled up! Rushie has definitely done his homework with his speed ropes (all of his ropes are ace) however if he upgraded the rope material it wouldn’t be effected so much by temperature and I think it could become an even better rope. Well worth keeping in your gym bag or car or arsenal though. No doubt.

That's a great question and a good idea for a future video. Thank you. The sequence is broken down into three parts - the double under crossover, the transition to the running crossover, and the running crossover. Getting those three down separately first is the key.

Another thing to consider is the fit+ handles are designed to be more versatile cause it can fit 4, 5, and 6mm PVC cords and you can convert it to a beaded rope!
