I got told by a dentist that using a mouthwas after brushing is fine. He said that "when you come in for a professional cleaning you're given a mouthwash afterward so clearly there's nothing wrong with having it after brushing."

Thank you for the review. I have problem with cordless flossers because of their bulky tank and it’s hard to move it around for me. I would like to know if you recommend the Ordo in this case or are countertop flossers are the only solution.

It depends exactly what you mean by hard to move around. Is this because the size in hand? If so, this is still a chunky model and doesn't d away with that problem.

Without dental coverage prices are ridiculous. There prices are set expecting insurance to pay. The problem is the insurance companies don't actually pay the dentist the full price (long explanation). So dentists actually make more money off the poor that have to pay cash.

Maybe my math is bad but you said it should take you 2 minutes . Well you also said it should take you 3 seconds per tooth let's do the math . 32 teeth x 3 seconds = 96 seconds x both sides = 192 seconds ÷ by 60 = 3.2 minutes. Am I correct or not

Philips say any of their heads work with braces. Hard to say that 1 specific one is best. Your brushing time, technique etc are going to have greater impact.

This is my second denture, in the space of one year (it took about 10 weeks). My dentist is very stubborn and doesn’t listen to my concerns. She always dismisses with “it’s an NHS denture; don’t expect too much. You better go private.” But the problem is when taking the mould and doing the fittings, she completely disregards my opinion. It’s my mouth. Shouldn’t I know better, if the dentures are fitting properly or not? Also, she had the mould taken right after a root extraction (gum was still swollen), which means the denture had a huge gap afterwards. Had them reshaped but they’re really bad. I can’t wear them… again! I’m going for a new fit check in a week’s time… I wonder why some people slack and have no pride in their work. And she smokes just before seeing patients! Jan 2025, London.

Three questions. How do we know if the device is working. What can we use to measure the frequency to make sure it is still working. Does it also kill the good bacteria?

We can't always tell it is working, we have to have some fair. There are tools that can read the ultrasound I do believe, but I don't have this equipment. This is a good question about the good bacteria and I don't know the honest answer here. It will likely have some impact I suspect.

Have you tested Olean W1? It was my first water flosser and it broke down. After that I have tried Braun and OralB, but they both have very mild jet. They are more like just pumping water in your mouth instead of giving a powerful stream. I am wondering if W10 gives similar powerful jet like W1 did. Or if it doesn't, would Waterpick be better for me. I would buy Oclean W1 but they are not making that any more.

- It appears the more you spend, the less reliable they get, topping out at Series 9. - Series 3, 4 have Daily Clean, Sensitive, and Whiten with no display or other means to determine the mode you are in, but when you turn it on, it defaults to Daily Clean, and press the mode button once to shift to Sensitive, etc. Those three modes is all I will ever need and most likely I won't be pressing the mode button at all. - The Series 4's Bluetooth is useless (and adds failure). - The Series 5 mode hieroglyphics don't mean anything to me (adds 1% more failure) - The Series 6 screen is a nice touch to tell you the name of the mode (adds 1% more failure). - Series 5 - 8 have 6-zone real-time tracking but actually not intelligent. Series 9 - 10 Adds full 3D 16-position tracking for your cleaning using AI and the angle of the head to track, not just quadrants, which isn't down to the tooth, and sometimes gets fooled, but can give better guidance. My first reaction to the phone app and real-time tracking was initially, "Cool!, that would help." My second reaction was, "I'd use the app for about a week. After that I can't imagine I would watch my phone while I brush my teeth. About the only thing I would watch is the white, green, and red light on the handle to keep the pressure right and Series 3 has that." - Series 3 - 6 must use the same mechanism as they are all 64 db. Series 7 - 9 are 72 db. The Series 10 is back to 64 db. This leads me to believe Oral-b iO ditched the 7 - 9 mechanism and returned to the Series 3 mechanism for some reason. The 9 is rated slightly higher for plaque removal but since db is a log scale, the 7 - 9 is 2.26 times louder, and I need it for living abroad on a floor with other people. - The 7 and 8 bring almost nothing to the table, the 7 - 9 are loud, and and the 9 is too close to the 10 in price, so none of these make sense. - The only things the Series 10 buys me over the 6 that I would use long-term are the color screen and USB-C...for +$200, less reliability, and can be easily lost or stolen while traveling and living abroad. - I'm down to two that could make sense, the Series 3 for reliability which is much more important when living abroad, knowing the mode is easy enough, and cost, and Series 6 that gives me node names which I don't really need, some real-time brushing information I probably won't use much, ~2% less reliability, and cost ~+$40. So why am I considering the 6? That's a good question for which I don't have a good answer. The brutal truth is it is a tooth brush, and the only features that will perfect my technique will be the timers and the pressure sensor, which the 3 has, and their mechanisms of 3 - 6 and 10 are the same, and their round-brush system is proven to be the most effective.

Gracias!

I saw Costco has an 8 pack of genuine Sonicare heads on sale next month (February 2025) for $49.95. Meanwhile, I'm in China and I bought an 8 pack of aftermarket soft brush heads on TaoBao (an Alibaba company) for only 44y or $6.02US. This Taobao vendor has had over 10K sales and the reviews are good. It works exactly like the original for a fraction of the price.

I had a 6 series, and decided to try out a 2 series. The 2 series motor felt significantly weaker, at least 2x weaker (maybe even 3x). Does that mean for the same cleaning effect, I need to brush for 4 minutes instead of 2 minutes? Yes, they differ by $100, but I am not in the position to save $100, but lose 4 minutes of my day everyday for the next 5 years.
@ElectricTeeth

No you don't need to brush for twice as long. Power can impact cleaning results but it doesn't usually result in significant differences. More power doesn't always equal better.

Question: is there a limit to how often I can use mouth wash? I usually use it after having my black coffee( rinse with water and then rinse with mouthwash). Can I randomly use it to freshen my breath?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 6 күн бұрын
Not sure if there is a limit as such. If you have one with alcohol in then it would be advisable not to use this too often. One has to question how necessary it is to use that frequently. Your saliva will naturally neutralise the ph of the mouth and restore freshness in time.

@@ElectricTeeth Ya, I usually use non-alcoholic mouthwashes. Also, my dentist stated that my saliva glands are overly stimulated and produce excessive saliva. I will rarely(if ever) have cavities, but the saliva causes me to stutter.
