Thanks for the demo. Trying to collect as much feedback on this pistol as I can as I am very interested in owning a classic sidearm. Is the .45LC hard to come by these days? I have an ex-Marine and another handgun lover tell me .357 is better to get.

Mec-Gar mags are 8 rounds and seem excellent. Superior actually. And they function differently than factory mags, which don't allow you to drop the slide on an empty mag (they are supposed to drop the slide upon vigorous insertion of a not-empty mag... a reasonable idea I guess but kind of unusual) .

I have one of these and have never figured out how itis supposed to work. The arbors are not tight enough to stop sag. Iattempted to use the next larger arbor but no go. Even if you got that part to work there is no height adjustment so if your scope id too tall or short you are screwed.

Great pistol… carried mine today actually marketed wrong .. as this reviewer is rambling about… Not only for old or weak … install a Galloway +10 RSA .. cuts the already minimal recoil down to non- existent… makes it a extremely fast shooter.. hard to explain how little recoil … makes double taps crazy fast and accurate… makes it a bit harder to rack .. but not much

Its a fair bet that ammo is a little high on the pressure. This expands the case head agianst the chamber walls for a few parts of second tight enough for the extractor to skip. Then heat rapidly transfers from the case head to the chamber and allows the case head to contract a tiny bit. The case then extracts on the second try.....

I know the stick feed one won't, but not sure if the clip on one will, I'd guess if it clips on it would. I'll have to order one, been meaning to get one of the clip on types anyway.

Let stop acting like $300 isn't enough money for a quality firearm. I seem like you just had a little bad luck with the one you bought. This was one of the first firearms that I've purchase and I have never had an issue with it. No jams no mag eject issues - nothing.

Definitely! It's a solid product, and has its advantages for the right build, but unless someone is at that level of training it's really not necessary in my opinion. This was my third "from scratch" build, but 7th AR configuration.

Their are several uses you are overlooking. 1) 300 blackout. Blackout ammo varys wildly in pressure. Having the ability to adjust your rifle without tools is massive for that round...add into the changing pressures, the potential of running both suppressed, and unsupressed, with subs, or supersonic, and you could potentially have a large number of settings that could be needed. This product makes that possible. 2) If you want to run a lightened bolt carrier group, without having to go to a heavy buffer which ruins the entire point in running a lightened bolt (lower reciprocating mass= lower recoil) Without an adjustable gas block, you have no choice but to go up in buffer weight. 3) Multiple suppressors. I personally use the kemo system which allows me to run several different suppressors on my rifle, or any of my rifles, but each can will have its own back pressure characteristics. Being able to properly adjust the gas to account for this is far better than carrying a bag full of different weight buffers and bolts. 4) quality and ease of use. Are their other adjustable gas blocks on the market? yep the most popular of which, would be the superlative arms, and the jp rifle systems adjustable gas block. These 2 blocks are generally the most popular because they have a huge range of adjustment, but The problem you will encounter with either of these blocks is that their is a screw run through the body that acts as your adjustment point, and that screw is open to the gasses...meaning as you use the rifle, fouling will eventually seize the screw and you will no longer have an adjustable gas block. This is a non issue if you will always be firing the same type of ammo, and will always be using the rifle either suppressed only, or Unsuppressed only, but if you change anything, then you will end up out of adjustment and unable to re calibrate without dissembling the rifle, and heating up the gas block to break the carbon locked screw. The rifle speed system uses a plunger that is separate from the adjustment system. Put simply, their is no expended gas reaching the adjustment system, so it will always function, and will not become carbon locked. The alternative to the type of screw system used by jp, and superlative, are the 2 or 3 position click type gas blocks, (example, Adams Arms, or the blocks on the new sig Spear and Spear lt) The problem with these, of course, is lack of fine tuning ability. You will generally have off, suppressed, and unsuppressed. This tends to lead to a jack of all trades master of none situation where none of the settings are properly diled in. Probably superior to non adjustable, but with clear flaws. Then you have RifleSpeed. This system has 12 positions that can be adjusted by hand without tools, simply and quickly, and the plunger its self is interchangable with a varity of sizes that ajust the position of those 12 settings so that you effectively have about 35 potential positions for the block. Essentially, all of the positives of the other options, with none of the negatives. So the down side? Cost of course....and if you are comparing it to a bottom of the barrel dpms non adjustable block or something similar, then sure....its a matter of spending 20 bucks or spending 200. If building the least expensive rifle possible is your goal, then this isn't made for you. If, however, you are looking at one of the other high end adjustable blocks, which run around the 100 to 120 range....well now we are talking about a difference of 80 to 100 bucks, and in exchange for that, you get real world on the spot ajustability, and the capability of adjusting your rifle to whatever ammo, and setup you have available to you, both now, and in the future. If you are spending $200 on a trigger, 200+ on a high end bolt, and running a match grade barrel....then i would say an extra 80 bucks to make your $1500+ build run perfectly and be more adaptable for future potential uses makes a heck of a lot of sense.
