I long thought what we should call our language in Balkans, because it is misleading and stupid to call it differently depending on geographical positioning. I mean, Serbo-Croatian is out of the question, and not only due to political reasons but also because Bosnian's and Montenegrin also speak it. Balkanian would be a best fit, but since some of the people refuse to recognize they are part of Balkans, that would be divisive too. Maybe call it southslavian (jugoslovenski), and not because of Yugoslavia, but because most south-Slavs speak it.

I know that you don't know this, so I'll forgive you, Serbian Orthodox Church didn't cause anything in Montenegro, it was the Montenegrian government at that time who wanted to take their churches and monasteries and make them their own. Historically Montenegrins are Serbs. Montenegrins as a nation were created during communist Yugoslavia to. This was all done just to further weaken Serbs, because Serbs were the majority in former Yugoslavia.

One explanation here Albanians in general are considered as a nation with blood and culture first rather than religion. We had many wars in our history in which we were almost assimilated by slavs and greeks and turks. Many albanians here say: "Faith of albanians is albanianism" without knowing the full idea or ideology of that meaning. It is an idea by Pashko-Vasa in which we put our nation and culture first to gain our independense rather than accept a faith because we were afraid that we will harmed by slavs and turks. We all albanians in general are majority muslim but faith is more like a community and personal rather than whole nation trying to harm one-another. Slavic-American here with Polish, Rusyn (Lemko), and Croatian ancestry. All 8 of my great grandparents were Catholic, though the Lemkos were Ukrainian Greek Catholics.

They're not just one people. East Slav, West Slav, and South Slav are completely different. Ukraine and Russia are both East Slav, and drastically more numerous than other Slavs with the exception of Poland, a West Slav Nation. South Slavs are an endangered group. And all West Slav ethnicities short of the Poles are also endangered as well.
