It's very hard to pull all them screws and nails because of the caulking and find a fresh place for a screw to grab hold. Ive seen roof blown off after a residing jop. Mabey just cut along top a straight line. Install a drip rail and caulk like crazy. If only they would put eves on like a regular house, it would even look better. Because of the lower siding rotting out due to skirting. I have learned to put skirting under and behind the siding. Of all the skirting ive tried on the rentals in my park, ive now gone back to metal, preferably aluminum heavy gauge. I've spent a lot of time doing trailer house repairs . At this point in the game this bodystyle was so long in the tooth that no amount of sales training could help the sales of these old war machines. The Cummins Diesel was the only thing that helped their sales. I worked for a company that had a fleet of these 1989-1993 models and they were great trucks just had a super outdated interior and exterior compared to the competition. Then the 1994 models became available and the company bought a lot of those and it was like night and day exterior wise but the '94 models still had a bland interior.

Maybe because I live up north you don't see the later models such as these 1991-1993 Dode D and W Series only mid 80s it truly is incredible they were able to keep this style of Dodge pickup and ramcharger until 1993 I read the 1994 model was suppose to launch in 1991 but delayed so instead they gave it another face lift in the grill.

Too bad they didn’t realize that VP44 was junk. I loved my 24 Valve though I never should have sold it :/
@TheBlueCollarPreacher8 ай бұрын
The VP44 was the first to use computer controlled to make the EPA happy, Ford also did some major changes to their trucks as well, GM didn't even get started with the Duramax until 2000, That's when the Government really started sniffing around. Also People really complained about how loud the Cummins was compared to the Fords and Chevys. that's why they did all they could at that time to try and make them a little more quieter. Just had to be there.
@toomanytododge25948 ай бұрын
the 24v the better engine than the 12v. Just not to many recognize that it actually is. Everyone is 12v happy
@TheBlueCollarPreacher8 ай бұрын
The reason everyone is 12 valve happy is because, it's all mechanical. No need for ECM's, PCM's, The EPA really started cracking down on diesels around that time. Just had to be there. Did you watch the whole Video?
@toomanytododge25948 ай бұрын
@TheBlueCollarPreacher I watched the entire video I own a few of these 24v engines. They are better than a 12v. I get the 12v is mechanical and there great engines. But all the upgrades they made are better other than the vp44. they flow more air than a stock 12v they have more power than a stock 12v obviously. But the thing that people don't understand. Is you could put a set of injectors in and a tune with the stock turbo you can get about 420 rear wheel horsepower. If you put a bigger turbo on then you could get more. But the thing is you don't gotta screw with the injection pump just a nice fass fuel system like you would on a 12v. A tuner. A bigger set of injectors and get good power. There very reliable I never had a problem with one. I talk to all the old mechanics around here. They like them alot better than the 12v. Don't get me wrong the 12v is a great engine arguably the best. But they took the 12v and made it actually better. there's still no emissions the right amount of computers on it so it's always running optimal but not to many to where it's a nightmare to do anything. There alot cheaper as well. There a hidden diamond

The takeaway honest truth is that anyone who buys the Dodge truck with the Cummins, especially those wise enough to go with the manual transmission, were destined to be very happy for a very long time. Those older trucks with their lower horsepower are in fact as good or better for actual hard work (even if not winning drag races).
