We will soon publish a video with 690/701 OS-base on 701. There are several viable mounting options available, depending on do you have Extension plate installed or not.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing this. Luckily, straps on R80 are replaceable. We noticed that there may be some premature wear on the straps on R80. I don't think the blame is on the straps. I think the thing is that A) R80 bags are usually loaded heavier than any other rack-less bags and B) straps are not secure enough so they move - when the bags are installed, straps are tightened, but due to weight, when bags 'settle' during the ride, one side is looser then the other. It may be a good idea to retighten the straps after hour or so of riding. We are working on new generation of the Heel guards and we will make even smoother edges.

When we got Tuareg, there was no Tuareg-specific OS-Base. Of course, Tuareg-specific base should fit even better. We will test it in couple of weeks.

@@josiahortega9284 We still didn't get our hands on the Tuareg specific OS Base. With that said, T700 base fits really well and I don't feel any rush to change.

Three slots provide more flexibility when it comes to finding ideal position and angle of the bags. All of the luggage systems require different positioning in order to perform the best they can. We have tested and used these with Mosko moto Reckles 10, 40 and 80, Kriega OS base (for Tenere 700) and OS-18 bags, Giant Loop Great Basin and Mojavi and with Enduristan Blizzard XL.

Absolutely. At the time this video was created dedicated 690/701 OS base didn't exist. So this is Kriega's "universal" OS-base.

Mounted like this, the bags aren't touching the exhaust. With that said, I would always suggest to use the heat shield. They weigh next to nothing and provide peace of mind.

Thanks for the comment! I ride 2023 701. Reckless 80 fits perfectly! If the bags are set properly (so the cutout on the base is above the fuel cap), bags rests completely on the rear side plastics and they don't need more lateral support. Tried and tested many, many times. No way bags can get in contact with the rear wheel or swing arm (unless bags are mounted too much towards the rear). Yes, side plastic will get scuffed but that is inevitable. If this really bothers you, you can apply some clear self adhesive film to protect them. By the way, check prices of the new OEM plastics, they are very reasonable.

Everything written there applies to the 2023 and 2024 bikes too. In short, rear subframe (tank on this bike) is almost indestructible, but you may consider upgrading tank bolt assembly.

It is Wings silencer, if that is the question. Due to the new material for the bags base and support provided by Extension plate, bags are safe from the silencer, there is plenty of clearance. Heat shield is still advised.

Hi Carl! This is not a review and it is not titled like one. Sorry it that was not clear enough. It is an overview of these bags on the motorcycle equipped with the parts we at Perun moto make. We also do the same videos with Enduristan, Giant Loop, Kriega etc. By the way, Reckless 80 is great. I love it.

Depends on the point of view. We aimed for a balance between strength and weight. IMO, we did well. I would rather read complaints about few hundreds grams more or less then complaints about rack broke in the middle of nowhere.

Loose the rear straps (or unclip the Gnoblin, if you use it), move the bag forward. If this is a deal breaker, there are other options. R80 has a cutout for refueling.

No, nothing to support the sides of the R80 if mounted more towards the back. It is not designed for pillion.

Sure, that doesn't seem like much. Also, keep in mind that anything can brake. I saw broken frames on bikes that were carrying no luggage, but riders were very spirited...

Much better fit is without grab handles. So we removed them. With our racks, we include the spacers needed to remove the stock grab handles.

@@osal4323 The fit of the bags is much better without handlebars, so I suggest removing them. And you can strap Kriega rear haul loop to the rack, if you need something to grab to.
