Hello missy ,happy holidays,thank you for your advice it's been very helpful i was wondering my question why are back jean male pattern price always bigger than the front,it seems,they don't line up even when you connect the front and back pant peices
@missysimaginings121 күн бұрын
@JohnRaines-b3b I don't know what pattern you mean. It can sometimes happen if the curves of the legs offset the basic set a bit, which is usually what I use to make a wearable pants pattern. I usually just line up the waist edge when sewing the sides and then make sure the center front & back match when sewing the inseam. Sometimes I may need to work them in a bit, but I never have much trouble.

Hi! Not sure if you respond to comments, but i can't find anywhere else to contact you. You have a pattern for 1/3 BJD, it's a cloak style coat. Do you have a video for that? I'm having trouble connecting the hood to the neckline, it just looks so odd for me so i must be doing it wrong 😅
@missysimaginings129 күн бұрын
@ibbie-bx9wl the long straight edge is cut on the fold. The long slanted line is the back of the hood. The shorter straight edge is the face opening. Then the shortest edge (which will be connected in the back) is the edge of the neckline which connects to the coat.
@ibbie-bx9wl29 күн бұрын

Hi missy,I'm having trouble finding a video on male jeans with crotch opening,can you send me a link for one please
Hi missy,I've learned how to sew the male figure jeans ,but I am still confused on how to make a pair of jeans with the front crotch opening so that can be velcro or buttoned at the front,should I try to make a crotch flap at front and if so do you have a tutorial on how to do that
@missysimaginings1Ай бұрын
@JohnRaines-b3b Yes! I have several pants sewing videos, and most of my male pants patterns are made with a fly opening.

I have another idea for kips for your viewers. I've used practice tattoo skin or silicone mats as kips. It's much cheaper than 'real' kips. However, overall, hot glue is still my go-to. I've also used clear silicone caulk, but it has to be a super thin layer or it sticks the parts together.

Thank you missy,I just another question or two that I'm a little confused on,what is a yoke on a pair of jeans and do they go on the male jeans as well as the female jeans
@missysimaginings1Ай бұрын
@JohnRaines-b3b ~ a yoke is just an optional way to construct the back of pants. You can watch the video for the Green Coat in the "7 Coats in 7 Colors" Series. That video shows pants with a back yoke & how to sew it. A yoke can be put in any pair of pants, whether male or female.
@JohnRaines-b3bАй бұрын
Hello missy,how do I figure the measurements for the waist band on the male pants?
@missysimaginings1Ай бұрын
@JohnRaines-b3b I always cut the waistband about 1 inch larger than the finished waist of the pants. Once the waistband is sewn on, I can easily trim it to fit as needed. I always add a 1/4" seam allowance all the way around. You can watch some of my other videos for drafting and/or sewing pants to see how this comes into play when sewing.

@JohnRaines-b3bАй бұрын
Yes thank you,I thought that's what it was ,yes I'm going to practice first I'm actually modifying the pattern so it's smaller,it's for my custom wwf jakks wrestling action figure billy jack Hayes,I make custom wrestling figures so this modification is for a 7 inch figure,but I've already shrunk the pattern to fit ,it looks like it will work fine ,I just need a little practice I've done a pair of overalls and shirt already,never a jacket though
@JohnRaines-b3bАй бұрын
Thank you for your response ,I do have one more question ,on that particular bomber jacket pattern it seems as if there are two different types of sleeves a regular sleeve and a sleeve that has three sections to it I mean it tells you to cut two on the one sleeve and it tells you to cut two on the other ,or is it optional for that pattern,I'm confused
@missysimaginings1Ай бұрын
@JohnRaines-b3b ~ yes, there are two sleeve options. The first is for a plain, full piece sleeve. The second is for a pieced sleeve. I've made the pieced sleeve so the middle piece is a different color. The sewing for this larger coat is not the same video as the small mattel sized BTS jacket.
