Other then biweekly fertilizing and trimming I haven’t touched these plants 😂

those babies dont' need fertilizer. They will grow under any condition and take over if not trimmed.

I planted the green sweet potato vine and two containers on my front porch and they took over both front flowerbeds. As I was removing them at the end of the summer I noticed humongous potatoes in the flower pots and in the ground where the vines have taken over. I’ve never noticed these The last couple of years that I planted these vines. Do you know if those are treated like bulbs? Would I be able to dig them and replant them next year?

I have recently started growing JM's from cuttings and have 12 new plants. My Dad gave me a Sycamore Maple sapling back in 2000 which we potted up and it has grown well. By 2016 it was about 12 feet tall. This May, I pruned it down to 2 feet leaving a side branch and it has responded very well with 5 new branches and many leaves and is 4 feet tall now in a large pot. I even have it appear in some of my YT videos as it's been around for so long :)

Hello friends, the hosta she has is Pauls Glory, not Guacamole, I have both in my garden; Paul's Glory is softly verigated and the leaves are thicker than guacamole, on the other hand the Guacamole, is thinner leafed with harder verigation and chartreuse in the center.

Oh my goodness thank you! I have been searching on how to just get the vine which is absolutely beautiful. Most videos are for growing slips for actual sweet potatoes. I also appreciate you sharing the various varieties. The one you didn’t want, is the one I DO want lol!

They are super easy to propagate from cuttings. Just place cuttings in water or very wet soil in a pot or cup. In a week you will see new roots. In two weeks they are ready to go in the ground.

Great video. I’m in KC as well, in a new home and planted 4 of the same variety and WOW!!! Those vines have completely covered my area and let ok beautiful. So…can the tubers be dug up overwintered and started again in the spring?
@brett15112 жыл бұрын
Yes, but its easier if you trim them and then put the cuttings in water, theyll grow roots and be good to go in spring
@rtbrain2 жыл бұрын
@@brett1511 gotcha. Have already taken cuttings And have multiples going.
@oonoo57242 жыл бұрын
As @Dank say; you can trim the vine, put it in water till it rooted & you have new plant. BUT this method will degrade plant quality overtime. You should start fresh from tuber to make slips after 3rd generation of "vines propagation". There are many tutorial to make new slip from whole sweet potato which is fairly easy to do
@rtbrain2 жыл бұрын
@@oonoo5724 great info. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I did take a bunch of cuttings and they rooted fabulously. I’ll be doing much more in the spring next year. Cheers

Chelsea (sp?) Please help if you can. I live in central Europe (zone), and this summer has been an off and on heatwave. I was given 4 Yew (trees not shrubs)- saplings (?) yesterday as a gift , and I have them in water only for the time being. I want to plant them ASAP. The ''green'' parts at the top are about 5-6 inches long and look very healthy, the ''stem'' about three inches long, and then the roots-also looking very healthy. I want to plant them now so they don't meet their demise in the little plastic bucket of water. Where? When? Shade/sun? Type of soil? How deep? I'd hate to lose them, as years down the road they might be huge, tall, and beautiful. Thank you in advance for any advice you may be able to render. Have a blessed day. Nice video, and even the music was so cute! :) Respect, from Jules.
