Generally, the Horsepower gain with a better exhaust is small somewhere say 10-20 HP unless you include new Headers which may give you another 10 HP over the exhaust gain.. But where you will see an improvement is your throttle repsonse, it will be much quicker. The majority of cars today and Z3's or E36's included is by restricting air in, and air out to "reduce" horsepower and in return get better MPG for whatever pollution laws your country may have. Most countries today regulate certainly MPG in cars, and it's always air intake and exhaust where companies "detune" a car today. It's just anything else, the price for a good exhaust has gone up a good bit making exhaust systems expensive for nice ones.
@johannjohann652312 күн бұрын
Headers will give you the best performance gain, and they used to be somewhat available, but for older Z3's they are very hard to find a good set of prefabricated stainless steel headers. Adding a port and polish to current headers may be an option towiden the headers slightly to make the header gasket which are generally larger than the exhaust port size in the headers. For reasonable priced "back boxes" of mufflers that will help with a freer flowing exhaust check out Megan Racing. They sell free flowing "racing" mufflers that are not crazy loud that may get you into trouble. It would be one of their "Universal" mufflers, and would need to be welded onto current exhaust but they are stainless and not too expensive.

What do you think of the 2001 2.5? I’ve been shopping a Miata but found a one owner 2.5 that seems intriguing.
@wwolfe64497 ай бұрын
Love my 2000 2.5! No rust and with 110k on it she still looks stunning! Just bought the steel plate kit to repair the sagging glove box. If course, the plates came with no insulation instructions, so I guess I’ll be figuring that out myself, but it can’t be too difficult. I must say I’ve owned many many cars in my life including sports cars and this is the most fun I’ve ever had driving a small, two seater convertible. It’s so responsive and just drive so beautifully. It’s always been garage kept and it’s in just stunning condition, thank you so much for your video. It was great to watch, and I am going to look for a few things that you mentioned that I haven’t previously looked at.

Hello. It's about 11pm and I'm doing last minute research b4 I purchase one tomorrow. My choices are a silver 4 cyl automatic for $3000 U.S. with a top that has to be manually raised and lowered and 182,000 miles / A 6cyl Automatic with only 86,000 miles that is black on black or another 6cyl with a manual but it has a small dent on the passenger side just forward of the side marker and the drivers window needs manual assistance. The later 2 choices are both $5,300.00 U.S. Never knew anything about them except that they looked very cute. I'm also 6ft 1inch tall. lol Today is Mar 28 , 2024. What do you think? Wish me luck!

If your seat belt holder that is attached to the seats on the door side is broken you might consider the fix that I came up with. I went to a electrical supply store and bought some large black heat shrink tubing for splicing wires or cable. I was able to get some that gave me about 2 inches on both sides of the fracture. It has held up well for 6 to 8 years and it blends well with the original color as the original. A very simple fast fix a few dollars

Get yourself a set of Irwin bolt extractors (Amazon or any good tool store), absolute god send for any chewed up bolt because once they bite they do not slip. I have no connection to Irwin but consider them the best bit of kit in my tool box and have used them for years.

the rear suspension sucks. It just doens't steer with the front. The set chamber is only good for specific turns and the toe is so limited to goes into snippy over steer. imo it's easier to just get a miata with better suspension.

I came back to watch the end of the second race, pure pain
Had my 1.9 since June has been great fun. Like you mentioned tho it’s the 2001 version and sadly it just isn’t pokey enough at all. And the engine is a let down. I’ve had an overheating problem since September, replaced thermostat, water pump, expansion tank (which didn’t fit - febi replacement) to then replace the radiator as it came with a fitted expansion tank. Still having problems now is an absolute pain to bleed. Love driving it but rn feel to scrap it. Regret buying the 1.9 so yeah if you can go for the older engines or a 6 cylinder. Stay far away from the facelift 4 cylinders.

Thank you for your INFORMATIVE AND THOUGHTFUL VIDEO showing that it is a EXPERIENCE not just a CAR. I had a 1964 MGB back in 1971 that I REALLY MISS. The Z3 is VERY MUCH like the 1964 MGB ROADSTER. I ALSO had a 1974 Fiat X1/9 that I put 185/60VR-13's that made it like driving a oversized GO-KART. I ALSO loved the removable hard top, GLASS BACK WINDOW, built in rool bar, UNBELIEVABLE TRUNK SPACE for SUCH A SMALL CAR and GREAT GAS MILEAGE. NOW that I'm getting OLD (70) I MISS the FUN OF DRIVING, I WANT AND LIKE MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. THE ONLY WAY TO DRIVE unless you run into HEAVY TRAFFIC then I'll just go a DIFFERENT WAY OR PARK AND WAIT.😉👍😁 PEOPLE JUST DON'T REALIZE WHAT THEY ARE MISSING without driving a CONVERTIBLE WITH THE TOP DOWN AND SHIFTING GEARS DOWN A WINDING ROAD. 😘👍

@@FeelTheDrive I haven't done many laps Valencia, my times were in the upper 1.34's. So I did around 20 laps and checked out your setup. It actually is a pretty good setup Motec was showing a little too much Pitch could bump up to 900 Bump Rate, Oversteer is good, Body roll is good, Aero / Pitch is good but could use a click or 2 higher on the rear. Brake bias felt good at 56.2/56.4, camber I went with 3.8/3.7 front and rear toe I went to -1.0. I was having trouble getting it to rotate enough on that long corner where everybody gets an off track. Maybe could use even more rear toe. I was finally able to break into the low 1.33's but I still need a lot of practice. Good luck on hitting 1.31's

Blue car weaved, which is not okay obviously, but red car ran into him after letting off the brakes. He wasn't on the limit so he chose to squeeze into an impossible space instead of holding the brake a while longer, backing off and doing a clean overtake later. A head bashing contest between two idiots.
