Barbel should definitely not be in still water . Nature doesn't put them in ponds and lakes and neither should we , but hey it's a commercial fishery , these guys wouldn't fish in a river and risk a blank .

Nice video Greg. I fished Aston for the first time yesterday and I think it's going to be my regular commercial from now on as I usually fish the oaks at Sessay but Aston is half the distance from my house So more vids on Aston please as more info the better.

What to say..? Obviously Michael is a nice guy and a decent angler. Found myself losing interest then reconnecting. Observations: Concerned about the use of old elastic. We have all had moments when we have lost fish through having old elastic. £5 will get you decent elastic. Not very Chatty, not sure why but if you put yourself in front of the camera's you have to make an effort to communicate to the audience. Infrequent use of Puller, I felt that there were times when he could have landed a fish earlier. We all know that time lost is less fish. I also think that visiting the margins a bit earlier could have caught a few more fish. However, well done Michael, 4th on the less favoured Lake and that close to the winner is a good result. Cheers

Considering you said it was nothing peg it did all right. Your decision to fish pellet at 14 was as you said the saver and the left margin on paste got you the section. I wonder of you had gone on the last swim a half hour earlier if you might not have challenged for the win. Well fished and much enjoyed. Cheers
