Curious, do they have a PA or siren alert system that they use to let drivers know so slow down/stop or get off the track?
@joshualloyd593 жыл бұрын
Yep -- although it's not an audible alert. If a driver gets stuck somehow/gets in a rough crash, or even if enough drivers keep breaking the rules, they will remotely shut off all the karts' engines. It's helpful if a particularly rowdy bunch of drivers get on the track and they need a serious talking to. Usually though, when something minor happens, they will just wave a yellow flag like any race, telling all racers to slow down

Can you explain why you think this way? A mouth mount in my opinion is one of the best ways to get stable POV shots. Also, this video is six years old before any company or GoPro made specialized mouth mounts.

Recently bought a GoPro to catch my farm collies at work and play. Got a Fetch to go along with. And at this moment, I am thoroughly disappointed in the Fetch. Major fail. It does not stay in place as a harness for even a few yards of movement. Using the chest mount, for some reason, makes this even worse. I barely managed to capture a single runout, of perhaps 50 yards, with only SOME slippage and movement of the harness. And that was using the shoulder mount. Using the chest mount was completely unstable. The flaw is in the harness design, but I am not sure exactly where. The straps are elastic, and the strap pattern SHOULD be relatively stable, I would think. But it is NOT. The strap adjustment changes, the mount position moves, the shoulder mount slides to one side or the other. Complete and total BOO so far. The things I see that might be causing issues: - the adjustment buckles are simple - too simple. People experienced in backpacking will recognize that a good adjustment cinch is pretty essential. -the straps are elastic. I'm thinking this actually allows for TOO MUCH movement - and the harness shifts as a result. -the chest harness positioning is not secure. It is a slip fit. In real-life usage, this means the chest piece can move, which changes the dynamics of the chest straps, and leads to harness failure (too much movement). Looking for alternatives!
@derp85754 жыл бұрын
Have you found any alternative yet?
@hieroraven4 жыл бұрын
@@derp8575 Yes, although it will require some hacking. The OneTigris company makes a line of service/working vests. I got the FireWatcher model, and have found it to be very stable and secure. However, it requires a hack (or a bodge, if you will) to secure a GoPro mount on the vest. And, as it turns out, there is another difficulty. It is highly unlikely that I could get good video from a moving dog, without using a gimbal. Since that would add a significant expense, and might not even work as desired, I have forgone further experimentation for the moment. I may continue, but setting the GoPro on just taking photos every few seconds.
@derp85754 жыл бұрын
@@hieroraven Thanks for the reply. I own a gimbal, but will not purchase another harness until this problem is resolved. I'm tempted to take my existing harness to a leather shop to see if they can make a modification. Again, thank you. I sure would love to see footage of your dog's working around the farm. There must be a huge market for people such as you and I for a reliable GoPro harness.
@hieroraven4 жыл бұрын
@@derp8575 In hindsight, I think I went easy on the Fetch in my comments. Replacing the stretchy strapping with something solid - like nylon or leather strapping should help, I'll guess. The OneTigris uses nylon strapping. Next, the adjustment buckles need to be a more secure design. And I would do two additional things to hack the Fetch: I would figure out a way to lock the breastplate to one spot after adjustment. And, I would consider adding some sort of padding underneath the hard saddle of the harness. It's like a horse's saddle - made of hard stuff - so some sort of blanket or felting should help it stay in place better. Personally, I'm thinking, at this point, that the soft nylon saddle of the OneTigris harness may be one of the design features that makes it more stable. I totally agree there must be other people looking for a reliable GoPro harness!

Nice video, I already have a DJI spark, and Tello, but I really want a Karma, thinking about ordering one, prices seem a lot better value for a 4K drone with removable camera than lets say a DJI Phantom 4, that costs three times as much.And I love that you don't need a smart phone to fly it. Feel free to check out my channel, for drone videos from Australia.
@edwardebersole72986 жыл бұрын
Mike's Man Cave, I bought a Karma Drone from Best Buy and it is very easy to fly. I have only crashed it twice since owning it and I have only broken one propeller. My mother; God bless her heart, ordered me four more. Today, the wind took it and my drone went for a ride. It was blown over a mile away and funny thing it came back even though it lost connection. I can only guess by default if it looses its connection with the remote control it will retrace its flight path and return home. The reason I know this is because when my sister's boyfriend and I were about to go looking for it we heard this buzzing sound and what was the source of the sound you might ask. It sure was not a bunch of bees. It was my Karma Drone overhead. Joe told me in his tired voice, "Land that thing and put it up for the day." I did exactly that and I have learned to wait until I have a much calmer day to fly my Karma Drone.

When your hand launching do you press the 'tap to launch' button on the screen (the one where it then says "flying to a safe height") to get it to leave your hands and fly up? I failed in my first attempt to do this and broke a few propellers in the process :( Thanks a lot for the great video though. Cheers!

@brentbary69486 жыл бұрын
2 flat batteries 2 hrs each 1 flat battery 2 hrs correct actually that is fast because each battery should only be hetting about 1.5 amps so should actually take more than 2 hrs per battery and as the battery gets highere in charge after an hr the charge rate drops to roughly 1 amp per battery

How do you power down the props when you catch it? just keep pressing down on the left joystick?
@RemoteNine6 жыл бұрын
Logan Trischett you can either push the land button on the controller. Or they fast way is once you grab it move it up slightly and it shuts down quickly. When move it up this makes it think it’s landed. I prefer catching over landing now.

@RemoteNine6 жыл бұрын
What do you mean "didn't establish home"? Karma does not need a "home" it automatically records your take-off point. If you need to return home or have an emergency Karma asks if you want to go to the "take-off" point or return to the remote controlers current position.
