Great video, I like that you show all the hidden nuts/bolts. Don't worry about not having all the torque specs for each nut and bolt... people watching this should go online and download the dealer repair manual which gives you all those details, but again, the dealer manual doesn't show you all the tips, tricks and issues you ran into which is extremely valuable to know. Saves time and aggravation.

Cussed Toyota the whole way. 16 bolts on water pump. 10 and 12 mm. I loosend the fuse box ( Rav 4), to get the mount out. You can clean the pump mounting surface with a piece of green scotchbrite pad. The coolant air bleed valve is on the thermostat housing.

I agree read the ingredients on both the Toyota OEM SLLC and read the Peak its exactly the same thing! The only thing I don't like is that it's more red than it is pink so for that reason I'm sticking with either Zerex or Toyota sllc2

Wow, I was sure you were above Grand Junction in the McInnis Canyons area; looks absolutely identical! (it is, geologically) I've had my stock '98 CRV and '07 Ridgeline up there with no problems. Nice to see the RAV4 doing well in similar terrain as I may be buying one soon. Nice vid, thanks!

Don't forget to grease the the drive shaft spline and shift rod when you re install the lower unit. Putting a sealant is not a good idea between the upper and lower unit.

You never show taking the motor mount off. You go from jacking it up to taking the tensioner off. Is the tensioner the same as the motor mount?

You didn't even mention you have two open/box end wronches put together somehow to reach the bolt to loosen the belt? What? How are you doing that? Is that a special wrench or what? Never seen it before and don't know what I'm looking at.

Cool mechanic trick. Use the 14mm wrench that has an angle or flex and the other wrench for extra leverage/ extension.

Decent video, but you skipped a very important and annoying step, removing the tensioner pulley which is left hand thread, which makes sense but may not stand out immediately to the average diy person. Also the bolts don't have blue gasket maker or gray, they have blue loctite which is standard vibration resistant bolt glue, which is why all the 12mm bolts can't be spun out by hand once broken loose but the 10s can. If you look at the seal itself for the pump you can see it goes around the inside of all the bolts so no need to seal the threads, just a little blue loctite when they go back in. I'm still annoyed with Toyota about having to pull the tensioner as it only overlaps the very edge of one bolt...

So did the e brake not lock up all 4 wheels?
@MidEngineMadness
@MidEngineMadness Жыл бұрын
It only locks the rear wheels and the way Honda set up their all wheel drive system, when the rear wheels are not moving but the front ones are, the system sends power to the rear wheels and you can drift with it
