Jab-jab mera mann mujhe mere hone par ghuroor aur ghamand sey bhar jaata hai, tab-tab main iss scene ki ore khud ko kheench kar ley aata hoon yeh khud ko dikhaane aur acchi tarah yaad dilaaney ke liye meri aukaat keval ek thucch manushya sey zyaada aur kuch nahi hai iss poorey brahmaand mein. Iss picture mein yeh hi woh ek pal hai jab Mohan Bhargav yeh samajh jaata hai ke usska desh gareeb hai jahaan paani jitna anmol sansaadhan keval 25 paise ka ek glass koi bechney ko vivash hai keval apna peth paalney ke liye. Shri Ashutosh Gowarikar ney bohot sundarta sey iss drishya ko pardey par darshaaya hai - train ka badi tez raftaar sey station ke andar ghussna aur platform par lagi chehel-pehel Mohan ke mann ke andar ki jaldbaazi ko darshaata hua jaise ke woh iss desh sey jald-sey-jald nikal jaana chaahta hai apni Kaveri Amma ko apne saath lekar. Paarshva sangeet bhi iss jaldbaazi ke anuroop hi hai. Magar tab ek chhota gareeb ladka apne saath mattkey ke tthandey paani sey bhari ek baalti laata hai jo usske uss poorey din ki kamaayi ka saadhan hai jo woh apne ghar ley jaayega ek samay ki roti ke liye. Aur woh poorey platform par apne mattkey ka paani bhaley hi chillaata hua bechta ho magar jab kisi sey ek glass paani khareedwaana hota hai toh woh dayaneeya roop sey maangta hai ke woh usska paani khareed lein jaise ke woh mann-hi-mann yeh keh raha ho ke uss ek glass ki paani ki bikri sey usske uss din ka peth pal sakta hai. Mohan ke uss ek glass paani ka daam detey samay dhoor train ke engine ka horn bajna yeh Mohan ke mann ke andar ka kolahal dikhaata hai aur poora scene slow motion mein dikhaaya jaata hai wahaan sey. Yeh dikhaata hai ke Mohan ko abhi aur dheerey sey sochna hai apne USA lautney ke baare mein kyunki usska kaam abhi khatam nahi hua hai Bharat mein. Yeh hi aagey chal kar usske Bharat lautney ka prerana-sthothra bannti hai. Issi kshan mein Mohan Bhargav ke apne mann ke andar ka tab tak ka kiya jaa raha daava-dol vichaar-vimarsh sudhrudd ho utth-ta hai aur usske andar apne desh lautney ki ek nayi chetana aur sphoorti ko ujaagar kar deta hai. Aise drishya Bollywood mein bohot hi kam dekhne ko milte hain. Hats off to the writer, director and Shahrukh Khan for flawless execution of such highly nuanced emotions. 'Swades' yeh ek picture Bharatiya film itihaas ke sunehrey panno mein likkhi jaane yogya ek amoolya kahaani hai.

Shah Rukh Khan is the greatest of all time not Dilip Kumar or Amitabh Bachchan and I don't need anyone else's opinion❤

It's been a long time since I watched this film, or any Indian film. Bollywood really lost its way. I remember when patriotism in Bollywood didn't involve stereotyping and jingoism. This is such a powerful scene, very little dialogue but countless emotions.

This is the best "feel good" movies of all times, way ahead of its time!
